Ouch...there goes my Kessil A160WE

LOL, dropped my light inside my tank this morning. I was testing it on my jbj 45 to see if it would handle a 45 gal cube and didn't tighten the bracket hard enough.

Light was on when it happened and for my surprise, it stayed on even inside the water. I, immediately removed it and unplugged from the wall.

I've left it outside, after using a towel and a vacuum to dry and tested it just awhile ago. Well it seems to be working but lost control of the white light and the blue is now controlling both spectrum.

I did email Kessil for some assistance and they immediately responded to my email, I mean, within 5 minutes, I've even thought it was one of those automated replies lol

I was in between purchasing Ecotech Radions or AI Hydras for my 90 gallon but decided to get 2 360's instead after receiving this type of customer service from them.

Kessils are great lights and their customer service sounds outstanding as well!

LOL, the lights....my frags are doing great under Ocean Revive Artict T247 believe or not and it only cost me less than $200

Oh yeah they make a nice light. I'm just a t5 guy. I've got a 24 in fixture that is a VERY cheap light, and I've seen better results out of it than some top notch stuff.

That said I've seen some led lights that were very good...hell those china 165w LED's will grow some crazy sps. It's all in what you like lol

Agree with you on T5's and MH for sps but my wife would hate our ConEdison bill lol

T5s aren't so bad, I never used halides for that very reason. I am a chalice and euphyilla and zoa guy. Only a couple sticks, and my corals have loved it.

When you start you hate it. You never quite get the look you want until you hit the right combo of bulbs its love at first sight.

Ya I'm kessil fan here got 26 frags of Sps they grow great look great I know lot of people think I can't grow Sps under a kessil 150 but here I am doing it and works great

3-360s and these colonies started from about 3" frags. I sold the colonies and they are already about 1/3 the size they were in this pic only a few months later.

Well, turns out Kessil will not help me out on this one. I've tried my best to explain to them that their clasp/bracket is not firm enough for a rimless tank and that was the cause of this accident.
So guys.....if you are mounting your kessils on a rimless tank, make sure you get the gooseneck positioned first prior to mounting them to the system.
Also, I was told it was not under my warranty, kind of confusing since this unit was purchased only 5-6 months ago.
