Our little reef

I don't think I ever posted a thread on our tank. Tina and I have a 75gal display, 140gals in our frag tanks, and a 29 we use to QT new fish. We began keeping a reef five years ago, and have been through our share of growing pains. Happy to say most of that seems behind us now.

Our tank has a 100gal sump in the basement, 8 ATI T5 bulbs over it, two WP40's for flow, and a pair of Sicca pumps for return. One does the main tank, and the second returns the water for our frag system. It has an 8" Octopus skimmer, a 1/4hp chiller, and a BRS reactor where we run Seachem Phosphate media. I change 10% roughly once a week, and dose with two part. I like Red Sea Pro salt and test kits, and keep a mixture of everything.

we are in Lincoln Village, it is on the west side of Columbus. I am blessed that Tina got into it. She helps me with everything.

I'm in the process of getting my fiancÃ© into the hobby. My next build I'm going to let her pick all the fish. Hopefully that can get her more excited about it

Very cool to see relationships sharing the same hobby. And if not, it's always good to support the other's hobby.

our skimmer died today. the power flickered and it went silent. turns out the impellor shaft broke. I ordered another, but in the meanwhile we are down to our back-up which is way too small.

My skimmer went down for a month while waiting on new pumps. Didn't loose anything but algae has gone crazy so I built a ats and now have skimmer back online so hopefully in a month or so i'll have that eradicated. North of Dayton over here.

we were in the right place at the right time. This Geo skimmer ran a bank of tanks at our LFS and they upgraded and I walked in looking for one. I got lucky.
