I have a pf 800 overflow box that's rated for 800gph with a pump that can do 550gph but the overflow box can't keep up the utube is 1.25 inches. Is there any way I can add a larger utube and if so what size do you recommend .btw its eshopps.

Yes you can get a new tube. Look at the eshopps web site.

Is it backing up in the prefilter(intank) or the outer box.

I have the 800 as well and I'm pushing a LOT more water than you are with no problem

The problem isn't the drain its just the utube isn't pulling water fast enough for bubbles to go though and when I turn up the pump it wont keep up

So, if I understand your post, you are saying you have a pump that is rated less than the box? If that is the case, I don't see the problem. You wouldn't have a problem unless you had a pump with a higher rating than the box.

Are you saying the siphon tube adds water to the overflow at a quicker rate than the box drains? If so, wouldn't you want a SMALLER tube.

Sorry... not trying to be difficult, just trying to understand your question.

Sorry Im not very clear lol. Any way what Im saying is the utube can't pull enough water from the prefilter to the chamber out side the tank fast enough for bubbles to escape

I get it.

So the pre filter box water level is low. Correct?

Its is not full to the top.

If so it's because there is not enough gph from the pump.

Doesn't that pf800 come with 2 u-tubes?
It doesn't. Not sure why it is pictured that way. Mine didn't either.

If the pre skimmer box isn't filling. Adding a second tube won't help.
I can't run both tubes unless I run my D.C. Pump at full blast. Even then one tube usually gets air bubbles and stops. The air bubbles come from the water falling over the teeth and getting into the tube.

I think you need a bigger pump. You need one that will push the same or a bit more gph. I remembered this being a problem. Lots of folks on the net with same situation. Need more gph. Get a variable power pump that exceeds your overflow box's capacity by a little bit. That way you can dial in the power needed get a full siphon going and it will push the bubbles out of the tube.

My pump isn't the problem it pushes to much for the ovflow to keep up with
Also what would you recommend for the sieve of a bigger utube saltyfilmfolks

I feel it's pushing too much the internal box will fill to the top.

Then it will overflow the tank.

Is the internal box filling up like that?
