Overflow help (Eclipse S)

Ok when you put the template inside just put gently on the bottom the trim , do not push the template to go all the way to the top between the trim and glass. Also, about the gasket one goes on the glass out side, the overflow outer box and then the other one goes inside the overflow box and then the big nut. If you want you can call me at 813-506-9623 Ruben

Push it all the way upon the inside of the tank. Just to be sure, prior to drilling, tape the template on and make sure that your proposed template hole lines up with the inner and outer box and the inner and outer box are not above the trim . It should not be, but verify before drilling just to be safe.

I lowered the template about 1/8 " from pushing it all the way up and my water line ended up barely above the trim by about 1/16", thank god.

Gaskets should go..... inner box>gasket>glass>gasket>outer box>outer nut. Dont listen to the instructions by Eshopps that tell you that both gaskets go outside the tank, if I recall

Hey all, got a new bulkhead and did a leak test today. One of the 1” drain bulkheads is leaking, the emergency drain. I re did everything and still leaking. I’m thinking it’s from when I put the red stand pipe in. I have to put it on after the nut correct? Otherwise you can’t screw the nut? It’s hard to push in so I’m guessing me pushing to get it in is messing the gasket up, when the red pipe is not in it doesn’t leak.

Help?

Edit, it’s leaking no matter what now, frustrating! Is it possible the gasket is bad? I would have to cut pvc to replace it

Did you make sure all the bulkheads were tightened down before installing. Mine were not tightened down out of the box. Use a tool to tighten not just by hand

I dont see how inserting the red pipe would be the cause of a leak??? It has nothing to do with the large nut install

Did you install everything.... inner box>gasket>glass>gasket>outer box>outer nut. Make sure you use a tool to tighten the large nut down, hand tightening is not enough. Dont crank down too hard but tighten down firmly

I did not use a tool as I thought everything was hand tight. However, I am seeing people doing slightly beyond hand tight all over the forums, so I wlll be tighting with wrench tonight just slightly

I'm sure that is your problem. Just crank down nice and snug, don't overdo it. If still leaking crank down a little more, bit by bit

I dont know why these manufactures say hand tighten, it's BS
