I have been battling with losing my euphyllia coral. It's always the same M.O the coral will be doing fine growing fullyeextending and splitting making new heads the out of nowhere start to lose its tissue where it meets its skeleton. Then it's history
I've lowered my lighting, changed wate, changed salts I have tired low alk, high alk, different coral foods, I bought a red flashlight to watch at night and still no leads. Then I was told it was from the nopox I was using. So I got rid of that and have tried a few different ways to remove nutrients. First I tried purigen in a reactor also running gfo to reduce phosphates and I didn't see the results I wanted and it was alot more maintenance then I wanted so I switched to a Clearview algae scrubber. I haven't used nopox in about 6 months. I still have the same problem with the corals
So now the owner of the local fish store I go to is saying he recommends running ozone,to counter the chemical warfare between the corals. Of corse he has a reactor or generator for 375.00. I'm at a loss and desperate to try anything I've lost countless corals in the last year and a couple of months that have added up to around 2000 dollars, some really rare and beautiful. I have some pictures but not of all but it's always the same thing. Can anyone share their opinions or experiences with running ozone? will this benefit me or is it another waste of money?
