Ozone - yes or no?

I'm not sure if you get the same level micron filtration by doing this...but stuffing some 100% polyester filling into a sock and using that has been just as effective for me. Not to mention you can get a TON of it at Michael's or wherever for $5.
So summary:

Cheapo filter sock: $2-3
Poly Filling: $5

So: $8 for around 50 refills.

Poly filters are chemical not mechanical filters.

If heavy metals were the issue would my fish show signs of distress?
All of my fish are fine besides the hlle on the tang but it came that way, I was assured that it would go away in a month with good diet and vitamins ( which has not been the case)

I had a similar issue with tissue recession and corals going down hill, tried everything and looked for every cause repeatedly to no avail.. finally I noticed a little hint of brown around the seam of my magnetic glass cleaner, I pulled it and broke it open with a hammer and it was full of rusty water! Did a large water change and put a poly filter in my sump.. in a couple days the tank looked 100% better and within a week or so my tank was pretty much back to normal, the poly filter turned orange indicating it was pulling iron from system. My fish where not effected at all.

Thank you. I'm going to get some of the poly filters on my way home from work today and give it a try

Not unless your heavy metal levels were really high, in which case they would kill most of your euphyllia fairly quickly. Good advice on both the PolyPads and the water testing.

Thank you I'm sorry I just saw this. I checked all equipment top to bottom and can't find anything wrong with the magnets so 8 have to get a test kit and find out what's going on. Thank you very much for the insite. I didn't know that heavy metals could kill the euphyllias and the fish not be harmmed.
