I was considering painting the outside bottom glass of my tank white. Anybody else do this? or a diferent color?

I have sand so I didn't paint mine. However, the only ones I have seen have been painted black.

Pink:D:D:D

I painted my frag tank bottom glow in the dark and then painted black over it. It's really cool

I did black. Make sure paint can and glass are same temp. Do it on a warm day and let the paint and glass sit in the sun for a bit before painting.

This is before I added it to my system

I was thinking about getting a 1/4" acrylic piece cut to the size of the bottom of my tank. This way it will be stronger than glass if a rock falls.....I'm wanting a snowflake eel so bad, but scared to get one since I hear they knock over rocks quite easily.

I used the black background, it has to be put on wet then squeegee. If I change my mind down the road it will peel off. Used the same on back wall, it's fine with MPs. Found online through MD

What size tank? I know this might be weird but one of things I enjoy about my bb 210, is watching the fish from below.

This is the coolest thing this old fool has seen in this hobby in many years.
Simple yet amazing
I like the way it looks like a pool of bioluminescent critters in the deep lighting up the tank.

I'm going to have to rip this idea off and use it on my QT systems
Thanks for sharing
Good luck and happy reefing

Seems like it would take away from the coral.

I saw one with white vinyl on the bottom of a DT, it looked real good.

I have sand, but I like a shallow sand bed so I painted mine black. Once in awhile when the sand blows away my poor goby keeps trying to explore the new 'hole'... Poor little dude hasn't figured it out yet -_-

I've once seen someone paint a really nice looking bottom with 2-3 shades of white, and a couple shades of 'tan', and a speckle here and there of other colors like black, brown, algae green. You'd have to spend time nailing down the technique, but id imagine from a distance you just 'tap' the spray nozzle enough to get a slight drippy/mist.
