Pallies dying please help!!!

Shyann you saw our help last nite at six pm

can you at least describe your tanks water clarity, fish positioning, algae inclusions, degree of bioload currently and overall ratio of surface area to water? In the thread that got deleted you were unhappy with the help…merely aim phone at tank, post the jpeg

Just going to add some friendly advice, for hopefully your next thread.

1- If you need immediate help, due to something going horribly wrong. Tag your post with the red “emergency” label in the title. It will attract more attention.

2- If your thread starts to die off, due to not too many clicking on it, or anyone not knowing what to say due to lack of information etc. kinda like what happens on the 29th. Make a post on your own thread called “bump”. It will rise to the top of the board and more will see it. Do this as many times as it take til you get the attention you need.

3- Awning all questing as fast as possible keeps people engaged. To hopefully get to the bottom of any issue you may have. ASAP

When I have an issue I usually put aside some time to watch my thread before I post. So I can answer all questions and trust me there is going to be a lot of questions. I usually need to keep going back to my tank, testing and taking pictures to answer the questions asked of me. I also know my issue is contently at the top of the boards attracting more attention, the more post it generates.

I hope this helps. I forgot to welcome you. Sorry about that Welcome to R2R! you should make a post on our meet and greet forms, telling us a little about yourself and of course your tank.

I'm guessing you're using Api to test for ammonia?

1. Once tank has cycled, ammonia should almost never be a problem. Api tests are notorious for being error prone. So I don't think ammonia is your problem.
2. I would start by running some GAC and a larger water change.

ammonia is now 0 , Haitian is a bipolar , zoas still closed. Gsp coral not growing. my clownfish has now developed popeye.

Since the last thread you posted on was locked. I’ll move. @Chefwheredyougo post over, since I agree with this post.

Just read your first post... pretty much what I got from it is you still have detectable ammonia, no nitrite, no nitrates (haven't completed your cycle), your parameters are pretty unstable, your adding a new light (again instability), you've added an anemone already, and just assuming here, you don't test the big 3.

To help you, get your parameters stable and complete your cycle before you start throwing animals that can and will die, and possibly harm yourself and/or your family into your tank. Get your nutrients up a bit for all 3 of the inhabitants you mentioned in your first post.
Check all of your water parameters, ensure there's no contaminants like aerosols sprayed near the tank, make sure there's nothing munching or otherwise bothering them. Return with whatever information you've gathered.

Btw, do you have any fish CUC or anything besides the 3 you've mentioned?”

Edit: could not quote the regular way, since you can’t pull quotes from locked threads.

all the corals was gifts , or free so not like a huge money loss if nothing works out. but a clownfish and hermits

Team, her tank is fully cycled. Can’t you tell by the pics

if the clues aren’t readily apparent what have i been soap boxing about the last eight

shes losing corals for reasons other than cycling/ ammonia

do fish usually live and eat in uncycled tanks with clean water for weeks?

post a full clear tank shot of this aquarium, not your params, because if you search api ammonia misread you can see what your params said in ten thousand other reefs. We are long past cycling issues. She said .25 and y’all take the bait and dive to the bottom

going off pics I would start with salinity massively out of whack, ie eighteen bubbles not thumped off the swing arm. Rule out salinity and temp then do a water change and start this nano out with fresh clean saltwater.
did a water change , levels calmed back down , but gsp and zoas still not progressing. will post pictures of tank , have to find nano lens. thank you for the help

I liked where target feeding was mentioned after a nice water change, it really might help bring them out over time

You have a better eye then me.. maybe the blues are throwing me off.

I see white white sand, and a small rock with what looks like algae… it could have had die off. Maybe it “was” a live rock? And a snail with algae. Which probably came from the fish store that way.

If she’s getting ammonia, thats an issue.
algae grew over time , didn’t buy the snails that way. also homemade live rock

I'm still guessing water quality issues or toxins. Run Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) and do 10% daily water changes.

If the other zoas are doing well. I would attempt to spot feed those palys and zoas for that matter in a zero nitrate aquarium a little good goes a long way. Try cyclops or calanus or even brine shrimp or pellets in a pinch.
feeding RR , bennareef and brine shrimp

if target feeding don’t help zoas what should be the next step?

If your feeding your tank RR and Bennareef it's not a nutrients problem. It's most likely a light, flow, or water quality issue.

Typically, Zoas like low-flow and low-light. If they are shrunk up and hiding...usually too much light. Stretching up, too little light.

Again with the popeye, I'm still feeling like this is a water quality or toxin issue. GAC and 10% daily water changes.

gave melafix, helped the problem with her eye. not as swollen and more active. moved the zoas from the flow and away from the light more. hopefully it helps. thanks a bunch

Commandment #3:

Only make one change at a time in your reef tank

You're making way to many changes at once...likely causing additional stress.
