What par lighting do the Squamosas do best under? Thank you!

Thank you

Is it a blue squamosa or brown? I'd never go below 200 par and since most squamosa clams are kept on the bottom of the tank its essential to have powerful lighting and access to a par meter. Blue squamosa clams need more par than traditional.

Its a blue one, yes. Thanks for the info. I have 2 marine orbit pros on my 125g. Im considering putting those side by side on my 40g where the clam is. Just weighing my options but i do want the clam happy as i really like it.

Yes it is and i really dig the clams.

Years ago when I saw a tridacna I knew it was my favorite reef animal. Squamosa has always grabbed my attention with there wild mantles and large shutes. They get more impressive as they grow. Here's a pic of a squamosa we had grown from 3" to over 12". It's not a reef tank without a tridacna;)

Beautiful

I had asked about the Orbit Marine Pro dual lights because this is what they show for PAR.

As much of a fan of current as I am, I don't trust there par readings. I've seen par readings on actual tanks at 100% that didn't even come close to what's advertised.

Lol, not cool. They came with the setup i purchased about 4 months ago. The look pretty good on my 125g but i only have fish in there. No corals or clams, they are all in my 40g which has the Finnex Marine plus 24-7

There nice looking lights no doubt. We used an orbit marine on my wife's 13.5 nano and we kept some anemones and a few LPS but the light sat on top of thank and the tank wasn't deep at all.
