How has this fish matured?Got this at a petco believe it or not. Lol wanting to know what kind it is. Great algae eater and no interest in corals.![]()
Yeah that is the "Iseri" Striped Parrotfish. I just got two of those. Sellers told me they were Princess. But the yellow nose tip with the blue lines over the eye shows they are Striped. I had only thought I was getting one but somehow had qty 2 selected. Here’s what I’m assuming is an S. iseri at this point. Got him a couple days ago.

Most parrots don’t do well in captivity as they tend to starve or not have room to be as active as they truly are.I’ve been keeping my eyes open for another one. Really cool fish.
Even the Princess are iffy I find. They’re not the best - Id say Bicolour and Quoyi are the easiest and tend to thrive best.Which is why there is only a few parrots that have been known to do well. Unfortunately Stripped don't do as well as Bi-Color, Princess or Quyoi.
He was in a 200 gallon and was getting fat( I tend to feed heavily). Had intentions of moving him to my 350 if he outgrew that tank. From what I can tell is they are great on algae and they do move around a lot. Hopefully another will come up.Most parrots don’t do well in captivity as they tend to starve or not have room to be as active as they truly are.
