Paul's 90 Gallon Build

Took these today with my little underwater camera. No filter or anything on it - just set to snorkeling mode.

Not much changed recently...have just been letting everything grow out. My orange/red tree sponge is starting to have issue unfortunately. Parts of the branches are starting to turn white as if it has been exposed to air, which it certainly hasn't. My wrasses and goby have been kicking up a lot of sand around it lately, so maybe they clogged some of it's pores.

I'm thinking about adding some more fish to my reef and need some opinions. As a reminder, I have a standard 90g with an Eshopps ADV-200 sump and a Reef Octopus Classic 150 skimmer. Currently I have 2 fancy clowns, a tomini tang, blue hippo tang (he'll only stay around until he gets to about 6-7 inches), a diamond goby, a yellow corris wrasse, an ornate leopard wrasse, and a blue star leopard wrasse.
I was thinking about adding a couple of bartlett anthias...any opinions on how many I could/should add? Any other stocking suggestions that I should consider over the anthias?

I won a raffle the other day at one of our local fish stores and used it to get 2 small Lyretail Anthias.

For a long time now I've had a lot of problems with micro bubbles in my tank. I've tried and tried to get rid of them but just couldn't. I finally found the cause last week though....the plumbing attached to my return pump.
On the Jebao DC9000 it doesn't have standard PVC connections and I never could find one that worked right...so I rigged up some connections to make it all work and apparently air is getting in through my slop work. Since I've been wanting to keep a spare return pump on hand, I decided to order the new Jebao Sine DCP10000. It is definitely more than I need but I got it on sale on Amazon for $102...that's cheaper than the 8000 was.
It comes with standard PVC connections, so I decided I'd just rip out all of my plumbing including my bulkheads....my bulkheads had barb connections on them which I hated.

After a lot of measuring and a few trips to Lowes, I had all of my new connections...I chose to go with all hard PVC this time. I also decided that I'd drain my sump (so that it could be moved around within the stand) and put on a couple of coats of Killz inside the stand to help protect against water damage.
Here is my final product after a ton of work this afternoon.

The tee off of the return line is to run a carbon reactor and one spare port.

Paul...tank is looking great. Congrats on the progress.

Thanks. I'm debating on changing my powerhead placement now. I have been battling some cyano algea for a while and have it mostly beat. However, but sides are still having breakouts. Right now I have my RW8's placed about 2/3 up each side wall pointing towards each other.

Part of me wants to try the backwall...but I've never positioned powerheads like that. Another thought is buying 1 more RW8 and putting it on the back wall...probably on the right side since that is where I have the most cyano issues still...on all of the rock and sand on that right side.

Thoughts?

I've been playing around with this new pump and can't turn it up much. Currently it is set on 10%...if I go up more than that the water level in the skimmer section of my sump goes up a few inches and the level in my return section drops a few inches. If I add more water to the return section, then the skimmer section just goes up more.
As a reminder, I have an Eshopps ADV-200 3rd Generation sump with the new Jebao Sine DC10000 pump. Any ideas?

I snapped a few pics this morning - these were taken about an hour after my LED strip and the blue channel of my T5s had been on. This is with an underwater Panasonic camera an no filter.

Beautiful pictures!!!

Well I seem to have broken my underwater camera some how - the water detector inside the battery compartment shows that it has been wet...maybe there was something wrong with the seal that day. So now I am stuck with crappy cell phone pics until I get a new camera - and for some reason my phone cannot get a pic of my green leather.

My tank has still been doing wonderfully. One if my large anemones split a couple of weeks ago...so now I have 3 large RBTA's. I have someone local that wants to buy one, but I can't figure out how to get one out. They all have their foot behind the socks where I can get to them...and I'm not about to tear my tank apart just for them.
My wife and I are working on buying a house...ans I've been given the official okay to upgrade at that time too. I've been looking locally and have found a good deal on a 220g, so that will be my next thread. Originally I was going to go with a 180, but I can get this tank with stand and canopy for only $600...so my decision was made for me :-)
I just snapped this a second ago.
