Yes Hikari is a good food for smaller fish with tiny mouths like frys, but not near the quality of natural vitamins and minerals or protein as PE. I posted the labels directly from the companies that show it above. I definitely got better color from my fish with PE just like everyone told me I would with it. I just got a bad bag that had thawed. As with all frozen foods it's best to thaw rinse then feed this way you remove any oils which in the case of PE is a natural oil not one full off unnatural additives.

I’ll stick with Hikari Mysis 1 lb flat packs for $15.
I also feed, flakes, pellets, Nori, fresh shrimp and clams. My fish are happy!

I have stopped buying PE brand too. Just can’t justify the price when the contents are essentially very similar. At the end of the day we are all feeding a variety of foods so how one food is better than others doesn’t really matter that much.

PE also has no phosphorus ( aka Phosphate ) where Hikari does. Here's they labels directly from the companies. You can see the PE mysis are 100% mysis with natural food sources not a mysis full of a bunch of unnatural additives.

This is what I found on the PE Mysis label. It clearly states phosphorus is included and it is actually a higher percentage than Hikari.

FWIW, LRS claims to be the only company to source PE mysis as an ingredient. I’ve never used LRS because no store within a two hour radius of me sells it, unfortunately.

Hikari now sells the same stuff as pe. It's called lake okanagan mysis. Same lake pe harvests their shrimp from. In my experience it is the same exact stuff.

I use it all the time but i let it thaw out in some aquarium water for a couple of minutes before serving. Fish corals and all other critters love it. But never had bubbles. Maybe when in feed mode some bubbles got around your return pumps.
