Perfect Stocking List for 90g Reef?

Why not a pair of wrasses like flames or rhomboid
I have a Flame Super male and a pair of Rhomboids in my 68 and they do great together. They flash each other when it's time to eat. Check out Zoacollector, he's a great vendor and his fish and prices are top notch! I also have a pair of Leopard wrasses, Tamrin Yellowtail, they're very nice and don't get real big. Just pick a good vendor, that's why I get all of mine from Colin. Also remember to have a good deep sand bed for everyone to sleep in;)JME

You need to look at blue zoo aquatics protocol they don't just observe fish.
I did. I called and spoke to them first hand. They observe, and if the fish shows a sign of illness will then place them in their medicated system. If it doesn't show signs of illness, they don't.

^Much of the time fish will be fine w/o qt. Most fish come in clean enough. But in Russian roulette most of the chambers are empty, doesn't mean I'm gonna risk it even though chances are in my favor.

Most that have been in the hobby for any extended period of time have experienced losses due to disease. Lessons on qt are often learned the hardway from experience.

Good luck jetmaker on not using qt.

Why not a pair of wrasses like flames or rhomboid
I want two wrasses but I want them to be different species. Male flame wrasse is beautiful but want some blue/pink/purple instead of orange/red/yellow.

I really want a male rhomboid but can only find a female and let alone a pair.

Also considering radiant wrasse instead of melanarus.

You have all those wrasses in your 68? Awesome. Would love to see pics. Thanks for the vendor recommendation, I'll check em out. I would be a little nervous getting the Tamrin or leopards since they are a little more advanced and apparently don't ship well.

Yes I plan on having 3 inch sandbed, that should be sufficient right? One question though, what grade/brand do you use? I was thinking Fiji pink. If I do get a burrowing fish like a jawfish or pink spotted watchman, I think I need coral rubble as well. Would that harm the wrasses?

I know:rolleyes:, I Love Wrasses. They all get along and eat like pigs. Here's a photo from last month. You do have to be careful with some species, that's why it's important to know the livestock and your vendor. Good Luck and let us know how it works out!

Beautiful tank and love the wrasses. What has your experience been with the tamarin and leopard wrasses? They are listed as expert only. I'm told are finicky eaters and injure there beaks a lot in holding tanks without sand and during shipping without sand.

Just be sure to select a good vendor. Call them up and see what their shipping practices are for the fish. All of mine shipped pretty well and I made sure that my pod population was sufficient to keep them going until they were used to eating what I feed the tank. Now they eat anything I put in the tank. My sand bed is 3"+ is some areas. You can set your watches on when they wake up and go to bed, it's pretty cool.

In ny 90g I have 2 leopard wrasses (ornate and vermiculite), 1 yellow coris wrasse, 2 fancy clowns, 1 tomini tang, 1 diamond goby, and 1 blue hippo tang. I know that I'll have to get rid of the blue hippo but my wife just had to have one...and she tolerates my tank builds so I gave in. I'm trying to decide if I should do any more small fish.

Coool. Where did you get your leopard wrasses?

I bought them at one of the LFS here in St Louis. Definitely my favorite 2 fish.
Check out my build page for their pics.
