Perry's 50Gallon AIO Waterbox Cube

Glad to hear things are on the up and up Perry!

Hey Tim,
Thank you sir, things are now humming along nicely, patience is the key right now. I am happy to take a step or two back in the the evolution of this tank, the reboot was a necessary :) I will be adding corals along the bottom part of the reef to complete my project, lastly I will add sps to the reef. I have a lot of real state, so this process will take time, but at least the new vision is in place, LOL :)

Another little update:
Tank for the first time, since I had it, is now actually processing alk. The culprit was finally reduced to a single large piece of live rock that was air freighted in from Fiji. I suspect that I never really cycled it properly. I had tried everything, even a CO2 scrubber, and still gained 1.5dkh weekly. I am certain this is why I could never get SPS to take off. That said, I will be adding some tester sps later today. Key notes to point out:
1. After muriatic acid bath, the rock literally reduced to 1/3 it's original weight.
2. That rock is now very porous, I believe that it is acting as an efficient biological filter, as I am dosing bacteria and carbon source by AF, but no biological media or zeolites.
3. Recent nutrient test results yielded 0.00 on both NO3 and PO4(Salifert/Hanna)
4. Alk dropping by .2 dkh daily, it was a bit higher, around 11 dkh from using IO salt, but it is now down to 9.8. Again first time I have seen consumption ever in this aquarium...Stoked!!! Will be shooting for 6.8 dkh, and for now I will run Kalkwasser to maintain chemistry, but will go back to balling with AF in a few months, once the demand is there.
5. Photo period update: Using ATI C+, Actinic+, and 2x KZ Superblue for t5's(11am to 5pm). Prime LED running 90% at peak on Blues and Violets, no red green, or white.(8am to 8pm) Kessil A160we running peak Blue only at 70%.(9am to 7pm) The color is simply amazing during peak, and I love that for photos I can tune in white with the kessil, really helps in taking pics

Well, Perry
You found the culprit and that's great news.

1/3 of it's weight is amazing.

LOL, thank you, I am pretty happy with the lighting so far, based on placement, I think the setup will allow for SPS to grow well, thanks for the kind words!!!

Yes indeed Freddie, just added 3 montis and 4 acro frags, already have seen consumption increase in 3 days since additions. I will begin dosing kalk for now, as the demand will not be heavy. In time, I will address the best option for my reef long term, but for now, just want a simple plug and play solution. Cheers buddy!

Journal Update:
I was fortunate to acquire some starter sps frags, and they have done well, so I decided to get a few more, with a total now of 12 sps. Scored some chunky pieces yesterday, and also added a Raja Chalice too. Lineage source not direct, but identical coloration patterns, best of all it did not carry the price tag :) Yesterday I scored 2 chunky acro pieces, I believe from RR is where my LFS acquired, they are extremely bright. I also scored a spath that has tons of potential. I am however still eyeballing mushroom corals, and will continue to add unique non sps corals, as long as they are bright. I am very happy with the structure of the reef, and the placement of corals. Hopefully the vision will come to fruition.
I am currently using the AF program, daily dosing of NP Pro and Pro Bio S. I feed ABEV x 3 days per week. I also use their carbon and phosphate remover but will move to passive, as NP Pro and Pro Bio S seem to handle my bio-load, still maintaining UNLS with one heavy frozen feeding per day. I am also using 3 days per week the Coral powder food and Ricco Food from AF at one spoonful. Within the upcoming weeks, I will be implementing the Comp123 balling program on a 3 channel BM dosing unit.
Thanks, will try and get some pics up soon :)

Hey guys, for those interested in more info in video format, I have decided to do a series of videos regarding this aquarium running on Aquaforest products, the Probiotic Method. I want to create a platform for more video learning regarding AF, let me know if you have any questions or requests to discuss specific products. Cheers :)

Thanks for doing a video series. Perry always curios about AF and am considering the 123 bundle in the near future. I was recently rescaping and asked a LFS about reef cement and he told me he has never seen an offering from his distributors. I ordered it online. Just thought you should know. Following along
