Petco isn't all bad!!

No flukes came out though? If not - and again the pictures arn't giving me much to go on here, or maybe too much) I would say he has a bacterial infection along with the ich. There could be other things going on as well. Are you allowed to use antibiotics at petco? Something like kanaplex or furan 2? Well, this wont help if you can get rid of the ich as well so that may be a problem too. It's been a long time since I worked at a petco so I can't remember the policies
sorry cam sucks

the tang is just under stress from having the ick and going through the dip. Just treat him with the parasitic infection concoction that you can use and make sure it gets rest.

I was a manager at a Petco. I can tell you that it is one of the few places I will not shop. Standard procedure was to come in before the store opened, remove the dead fish, reptiles, birds and anything else that had died from public view, The information was then entered into the company accounting system. Then they were stored in the freezer so that the district manager could check to make sure they were all accounted for. While I agree and appreciate that there are individuals in these stores that care for the animals as best they can, the company as a whole views them as just a number and the casualties as a part of doing business. Unfortunately that cost numbers in the TENS OF THOUSANDS annualy. By shopping there we all contribute!

Thank you for the input and welcome to the forum! I believe how ever that there is still hope since there is no way that we can make the company go bankrupt We have to find a way to change the company's views/procedure or at least influence them

Yea and company changed hands last year and things are already changing very fast. For the good.

@fatboy445 When you did the FW dip, did some of the white stuff (on his skin) come off? If so, that's Brooklynella if it was large & slimy. Flukes would be white, small & oval shaped like the pics below.

No im pretty sure its from him rubbing live rock.

Those patches arn't from rubbing. They dont generally rub hard enough to do that. It's more likely an infection that has set in at the insertion points of the parasites. You can only do what they will let you and those meds you showed arn't very effective in my experience. They do seem to do well with freshwater though. Good luck.... I believe that if they wont let you use real meds on these fish, the best you can do is add vitamin supplements to their food every day and hope it helps their immune system fight off their illnesses.

Ah, well that part kinda sucks, but if your willing then run copper in the system. Copper safe has worked well for me at the LFS I work at. That tang in particular needs to rid itself of the ich and have the infection treated with an antibiotic such as kanaplex or furan 2. You can feed those to him with the addition of Seachem's Focus to bind the meds to the food, but it will be slower acting and take a bit longer. You'll want to feed that to him for 10 days straight then reassess his situation and the need for further or different treatment.
