@Russ265 amazing what you did and that you give them a chance to be part of your tank. Or what is the plan for that 2 survivors? :)

i dont think a purple tang would work in my display to be honest.
the reason being is i have a powder blue and regal already. regal i dont think would be the issue but powder blue can easily stress out.

maybe a r2r raffle or something.

i have another 5 weeks for some ideas to come in.

@Humblefish need your wisdom on this one....

some sort of fungus? bacterial?

looks like very light lateral line. man this fish lol. if there was ever a "project" fish, this guy would be the perfect candidate.

@Russ265 That's bad news, brother. :( Its the SW version of Columnaris (Flexibacteria). I (unsuccessfully) tried to treat a Tomini (pic below) with a similar condition. I used everything I had with zero impact: Kanaplex, Nitrofurazone, Metronidazole, Erythromycin. If given the chance again, I would try the triple sulfa antibiotics: http://www.apifishcare.com/product.php?id=639#.V0snTLorK1I

I'm pretty sure it's a gram negative bacterial infection.

It wouldnt hurt to try furan 2. It says its for both fresh and salt and it says its supposed to take care of columnaris

i want to try cipro (strongest antibiotic i know of).

what do you think?

Is it effective against gram negative? If so i dont see why you couldn't Try it

It's on anemones but it does say it's a good gram negative antibiotic

dosed 1000 mg (1g) of cipro.

i also have triple sulfa, furan 2 and another strong antibiotic (tetracycline).

im not one to dose multiple antibiotics.... but i do want to cover my bases

Ciprofloxacin can be pretty harsh on fish IME. But it is active against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

I think is safe to say that using cipro is one of the medications to make real sure you are dosing correct. Would that be a fair statement @Humblefish?

What about azithromycin? Strengh wise its up there but not as harsh as cipro. I believe. It wouldnonly be speculation from me however

I guess I've never heard of that one, I'd have to do some research on it. Does it do gram negative?

Yes I believe it does, it is to us, a zpack. But i believe it can be found in liquid form.

I would be curious about levaquin but i dont think it can be found in a liquid. Cipro however is just massivley harsh, where as i dont think the fish would have as much chance at an adverse affect with azithromycin
