We should all take up donations to buy him a bigger tank! I’m in if anyone else will too???? !!! Let me know!!!
Wow, I don't even know what to say. You guys are incredible. I definitely am not expecting anything from this whole adventure but to see the tangs get better:)

I just got a prescription from my vet for CP, after I convinced her you can’t bring a saltwater fish in for examination. She relented after I showed her a video of my Tang:)

Love this post!! I went to school for both Vet and Humans...and soooo often they just don’t teach animal husbandry so good for you for pointing that out.

And if there is anyone else that needs to okay a bigger tank... like a significant other. I'd be in too.
I’m in if he has the room.
I should be able to make room, and my wife will approve if she doesn't need to pay my credit card bill lol. Again, I definitely don't expect anything and this is very generous for all of you to offer. It's not something I was expecting at all

What a great thread! Keep up the good work!

When it comes time for the second prazi dose, try to time it for ~ 10-12 hours before a scheduled water change if possible. Mixing Prazi with antibiotics can be really hard on the oxygen content in the water, so want to only run it for as long as absolutely needed.

I cannot stress this enough. :)

So these pills are 250 mg but 150 base so a half of one would be 75 which is the dose at 15/L for a 5 gallon tank. Crush them and dissolve in A cup of water first. The powder is very sticky and bouyant so crush in the container you will mix in.

Maybe some others can correct the dose if more is needed for the actual treatment phase.

I am following everyone's instructions as accurately as possible and having my wife double check dosages each time.

Aren't hippo tangs one of the few that don't seem to tolerate CP though?

That is true for the prophylactic QT. For treatment things get cloudy. Same for wrasses and anthias. He may not need to go the CP route they seem to be getting better.

Yes that is true, copper is best for hippo tangs. CP (Chloroquine Phosphate) is often troublesome with hippo tangs.

I was able to get them both in the same pic, visually the blue hippo's infection looks about the same as yesterday but her breathing is definitely better and she's more active. I also just saw her nibbling on her nori finally. I'll be doing a water change in a little bit before the next dose of abx
