You should be prob housing your fish in quarantine for a couple of weeks before adding them to your display esp if they come in with ick or other visible parasites. This is a practice that all hobbyists should do to avoid problems down the line.

Yep, I'm doing an in tank treatment right now. I didn't have enough qt set up to handle all the fish. From here in out I'll only be getting 1 or 2 fish at a time so I will be able to qt.

I knew better than to not qt but you know how that goes...

Not much going on with this tank. Still waiting for it to be ready for all the sps I have. I worked on it quite a bit today. Cleaned the skimmer, siphoned junk out of the tank, stirred up the fuge. I put a filter sock in the sump to run the return into since everything is stirred up. I put a powerhead in the fuge with a tube running into the filter sock to clean that up as much as I could. A firefish somehow ended up inside the overflow box. It was easy too get him out though. I just drained the box and reached in with my hand to grab him out. I'm hoping to start adding the sps within 2 weeks.

Today I changed out the carbon and spilled it all into the return chamber of the sump. I spent twenty minutes digging it out by hand lol. I decided to give acro a try in there, so I fragged a piece from one of my colonies... Keeping my fingers crossed.

Today I noticed the male clown taking an interest to some epoxy on some rocks and swim over to the female and start twerking. I may have eggs soon if she's interested.

I'm getting moderate coralline growth now, so that's a step in the right direction. The tank is in the green algae stage right now and I'm having to wipe the glass every day. Its something I have found typical of tanks 4-6 months old. I'll be looking out for the cyano stage next that seems to happen right after the green algae stage. The rocks are no longer the green you usually see with an immature tank, so that is another sign of progress. Hopefully I don't have to much longer before its mature enough for these swings to settle down and ready to keep sps very happy. The frag of birdnest and maricultured tenius are doing pretty good still. I would probably be ok to stock the sps in there now, but I really don't feel like turning 40 acro into calcium reactor media.

The good news is the birdnest and acro are growing a little. The bad news is the color sucks....

I guess I'm going to have to figure out something to increase the nitrates in this tank, they're undetectable. You would think having 8 or 9 fish would be enough to have some nitrates show up. I'm not against adding more fish, but I'm thinking they might become too crowded and become aggressive...
