pH Swing

You all are really making me want to buy an Apex controller - love those graphs! I am sicking of using my Salfarit PH testing and seeing 'green' ... geez is that green 7.9 or 8.0 or is it a 8.1 green who knows.

Haha. It's nice. But then you find yourself checking and worrying more because you see what is happening 24/7. Lol

You don't have the pH probe cable running near any electrical devices do you?

Ha! I just remembered what caused my pH to act up last time. The float switch wires got a little moisture in the connections. I unplugged them and the pH started going back to where it should be.

Totally agree that chasing pH can do more harm than good. My tanks over the years have routinely had 0.4 swings from day to night and back again. Much better to use a PH monitor to watch for something catastrophic…or in Mike's case just keeping tabs on a tank that shouldn't be alive :)

Is his better? Got my Apex the other day with a brand new probe.

Much better! hahaha

Man I really need to calibrate mine again. The probe sat with the tip in SW in a plastic bag for over a week in my truck when I moved. Not sure if that would jack it all up or not, but the temperature is what makes me think it could have. That was almost 3 months ago....

Much better Mike. Chris, I have one laying around if you want to compare the readings to see if yours was damaged or not...
