I saw on another page this light is 18"×16". That is bigger than what I had thought. Excited to see the feedback come in for this light.

The spectral data for the Philips light is correct.

Only the full spectrum measurement for the Reef Breeders is not. I checked both lights this morning and will issue a correction when the charts are done. Not sure how I made that mistake as I am working with two different Excel workbooks, but I did. And I apologize for the error.

Not knocking a manufacturer or getting into a price gripe personally here, and I just don’t care because I’m happy with my lighting and not even in the market....but I wonder what Philips charges for the high bay tooled units the coral care lights are built from. Anyone in the commercial lighting business have any insight? I know they use these exact panels in schools, shopping centers, and other public places just without the rainbow of individual colors. I wonder if they’re charging anywhere close to $750 per unit for commercial general lighting use. Can’t find any local suppliers. But it appears to be the Gentle space Gen3 fixture they’re built from

The answer is gentle space is an international fixture and not available in the US. But the Daybrite CFI is and for a 187w 4000K fixture my price with tax is $527 with no options. Now once you add the fact the Coral Care fixture is a custom fixture with many options well the price? I priced some custom EXIT lights last week and the price with mark up $1,400 ea. A cheap EXIT light $50 or less.
Dana thanks for the testing, and personally I love the 12K to 14K look. The Radium and Phoenix 14K Metal Halide lamps fit right there. And no other lamp grew coral like those two.

Pretty excited to see this light come to the US as Phillips is one of if not the biggest manufacturer of bulbs and lighting tech there is so reliability should be top notch. On the note of price im not sure why everyone is complaining. If you spend a minute of your time looking at euro reef tank groups who use these lights they offer a lot more coverage than other lights on the market that cost more, and that is a win! Hopefully a driving factor to make some of these other companies make a light that has better coverage for your money rather than forcing you to double or triple up on units. Orphek covers a heck of a lot more tank for dang near the same pricing as radions and again, they came from the euro market. So welcome to the US CoralCare. Most of us are excited for your arrival.

Not sure if anything needs to be “fixed” per se. The V2 is now 15 pounds. The reason for the heft is for the passive cooling. The fixture is essentially acts a massive heat sink, hence the weight. It’s a trade off for the benefits of passive cooling as opposed to the noisy/faulty fans present in actively cooled zLED fixtures.
