Phosphates and green hair algae

Deep Blue Professional SolarMax HO T5 Double Lamp Light System with Moonlights
24 inch 24 watt 24 watt 4 LED's total 50 watts

Again looking at your pics and don't see anything to be worried about. It looks like a newer tank to me? It should work out nicely. The green will turn to red algae, very nice and it's not red cyano,,, just nice red algae! The red cyano you have now should be gone in a while as long as you don't over feed and fix your phosphates

I guess something like mine, people ask how? I just don't know, but I think it has a lot to do with t5 lighting. After these LEDs,,, it all went bold and purple :(
I loved the red algae :)

Sorry I always forget the pic

, all purple! Loved that crazy red algae. That's what you'll end up with

Your tank is 1.5 months old, don't do anything drastic. Just keep sucking it out with your water changes with a small diameter piece of tubing.

No not unless you leave it in for months at a time just change it out when it looks dirty and it should work just like filter floss

Nothing it has an emerald crab a gsp frag that was starting to grow Bubble algea on the plug live rock and sand and a couple snails that's it

I have a feeling my yellow tang plays a part in that but honestly I don't know I got a piece of live rock that had some on it and put it in my sump about 6 months ago and as you can see the hair algea took over that chamber of my sump and just kinda stayed there so I left it alone to eat up some of the nutrients and the chamber next to it is cheato that's less then half of what I had I just cut it back because I couldn't get my hand in there anymore but I will tell you this cyano and diatoms and funny colored algea are something that almost every single reef keeper I know has gone through on a new tank I still get a little diatom outbreak every now and again in my algea chamber just try and boost your bio filter and keep exporting nutrients aka skim waterchanges chaeto etc and it will take care of itself and snails do help too

Yeah that looks like a turbo I would also add 2 maybe 3 cerith snails and 1 or 2 Margarita snails and in a couple weeks or so in that small of a tank you should be all set
