@tommyhere That's a bacterial disease of some sort. Aeromonas spp., Vibriosis or Hemorrhagic septicemia can all look like that in the early stages. The latter has a viral version which is untreatable, but all the others can be treated with antibiotics. Or sometimes a fish's natural immune system is able to fight it off on its own. A clownfish would have the best chance of fighting off an infection without assistance due to their thick mucous coat and overall hardiness.

Harmful bacterium are almost always present in the water. What keeps them at bay is clean water conditions and a healthy fish's immune system. If either are compromised, and the fish cuts himself or something, the possibility of infection increases. Fish already battling preexisting parasitic infestations (such as ich) are always at a much higher risk of developing an infection for a multitude of reasons. I'd say more times than not, it's the infection that kills the fish before the parasite. :(

I agree with that, my sum 50 fish through the years I've purchased I've only seen it in clowns and it looks the same every time. I've seen clowns at local fish shops with it as well and as hardy as the clown is its weird I've seen so many with it

I have something similar on my female clown it started growing after her last fight with the male to see who dominates it's like this pimple with red in the middle, she eats fine and swims fine and does everything normal but I'm worried

@meir Do the clowns lock mouths when they fight? That could just be a love bite mark. ;)

Is that good or bad

Not too unusual in the early on, but it can become a problem if they keep on doing it. That can mean you have an incompatible couple or possibly two females.

I'm worried abt the bump tho is it fatal

If its just a love bite, it will heal and there's nothing to worry about. If its an infection, it might grow in size. I would wait & see for now what happens.
