I noticed that before i started heating my WC water before water changes my clam woukd do this for a couple hours afterwards. Have you done something similar?

Nope. Water changes are always temp matched.

Clam looks much better. I would give it a few weeks and keep an eye on the clam. Typically a freshwater dip can wipe out the protozoa in one try.

So the clam recovered nice and was looking great. 2 days ago my apex stopped controlling my hydra that was directly over the clam and the light was on full intensity for an additional 8 hours before I realized it. Had a very nice rose millepora rtn and of course this clam is not looking so hot now. It looks okay for a portion of the day but than completly closes. I hope it recovers but in the past this was usually the beginning of the end.

It probably experienced light shock. The clam can recover from that fortunately.

Do you think its safe to add more clams at this point? I know PEA has a bunch in.

I'm honestly not sure how long or if the protozoa hangs around. When the big squamosa was freshwater dipped l, pinched mantle did not spread to the other clams. Maybe try just one to see how it goes. I saw there update, we can't wait to get a couple.

So here is a photo of the clam. Have you ever seen one that doesn't open its exhalant siphon. This is something else I noticed.

That's normal. The clam will open the exhalent if its filtering or getting rid of waste, etc. The squamosa looks good.

So the clam would only open like this for about an hour or so a day. It's still firmly attached to the shell I have it on. I decided to move it away from the light a bit to see if that helps it recover. No issues with that right? Its looked pretty much like this all day.

Not a good sign unfortunately. I don't think moving it will hurt at this point but I'd let it be for now

So just moved the clam to my nano. Wasn't really doing well. Maybe a change of scenery will help but this one looks like its toast. Got a new one comming from PEA so just in case it has some weird transmitting disease I wanted it out if the tank.

So I think I have the answers I need. Got a super healthy clam from PEA and it only took 1 week for the mantle to start curling and to not expand fully again. Shutting down just like the rest of them. The only thing I can think of is that I got some type of bacteria or virus from liveaquaria that is making it impossible to keep clams alive. Unfortunatley it looks like if I ever want to keep a clam it will have to be in another tank.
