Bacteria bloom is what I'm thinking. How long has the UV been up and running
UV was started as soon as I noticed the pink water.....has been on the tank for 2 days now. I have also been doing 50% water changes daily so the water is looking much better, probably from a combination of the UV (especially since carbon doesn't seem to be doing anything) and water changes.

I forgot you said that dang man I want to know.
You and me both lol. I did another 50% water change today......gets lighter each time so whatever caused it has stopped it appears.

Gonna have to go with the bacterial diagnosis I think (although I would think the UV would have cleared it up pretty quick......oh well) :) Thanks everyone!

My water is like this too!!!! Did you figure it out?

Bacterial or foods- Have you fed a new pellet or flake food that is red ?

Looks like a bacteria bloom. Is this a new tank
It is new. 3-4 weeks old and one live fish. I used Carib sea life rock and was worried there were dyes leeching or maybe something coming from my water, I use RO but I have an old house. I’m planning on doing an ICP. My QT is clear though.

I'm certain it's a bacterial bloom
