So I got a blonde Naso about 6 weeks ago. Went though full QT procedure. Was eating well looking great with no signs. Went through QT with a small hippo melanurus wrasse and a black molly I acclimated. I put all in DT Saturday and he looked to adapt the best cruising eating etc. yesterday he looked great. eati g nori off clip etc. I got home from work today and listless on bottom of tank breathing slow. Does not eat. Just once and awhile meanders to a different spot to rest. He went very dark from his normal pale gray. Like when he is stressed. There is no signs on skin. Of parasites etc. I am clueless. He is the best pic I can get. The only thing I noticed in last weeks. He didn’t over feed. He would aggressively rip apart nori but seen him spit a lot out but always seem to disappear. Any ideas?

I dont know what it could be but something similar has happened to my gold rim tang. Was fine for 3 weeks and now he doesn't look so good

I am hoping it is some kind of acclimation thing getting introduced to new tank mates. And just stress. Weird that he is just breathing so slow. Almost like a she is a tranz

Ammonia spike?
No. There are 10 other fish in tank and all doing well. It is 140 gallon established stable system. Nothing died. The other newly qt fish also doing really well. It it possible. He ate something not agreeing with him? I am reaching here.

Sorry about the troubles

Your water parameters may help. A disease person should be around somewhere. @pathot984 @Peace River
Sg1.026
Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
My nitrates and phos close to 0 ( that is another issue for corals)
Temp 78
Right now is I. Back of tank between wall and rock. Almost motionless but upright with dorsal fin up extended.

What other fish are in the tank? Did you treat for internal parasites in QT

Other tank mates
Melanurus wrasse
Leopard wrasse
2 clowns
2 banghi cardinals
1 chromis
Matted filefish
Small hippo. 3 inches
Black molly
As far as treating internal parasites. I did try to give food with metroplex, focus and another time with focus and general cure but not consistently. They did not like it too much even tried adding garlic guard but for some reason that seem to make their dislike worse.

Can you give us some more info about your QT procedure.
2weeks with copper power at 2.0!then transferred to clean take for observation. While there, 2 rounds of Prazipro over 14 days. I did do freshwater dip before Prazi which came up nothing. But still did it anyway. Tried giving the metro soaked food a couple times but they did not seem to like it so did not do consistently. All looked healthy when out in DT. I did keep a canary black molly with them though Qt which was sure I would see something on him if there was something. Now you have me thinking internal but never seen any stringy poop etc.

What's your acclimation process?
As far as acclimation since I keep my parameters close to each other I just transfer. But admit the salinity was a tad lower. 1.024 compared to DT of 1.025. Could that be an issue? . She looked fine and great for a day and half after I transferred.

i doubt thats the issue with salinity that close that wouldnt have stressed them

The amount of time you acclimate.

I dont know what's wrong but naso, especially blondes, are notorious for suddenly declining

As long as o2 and ammonia are in line and nobody is picking, on it I'm not sure what you could do.

Best of luck!

How did you transfer fish?
What is temp and salinity
Did it get startled perhaps and crash into object? (Not uncommon with them)
Stray voltage ?? When you stick finger in water, any jolts?
