Three weeks ago I purchased a GSP coral and the coral came out after a day and consistently opened everyday until over a week ago it closed up. I see little white bugs and occasionally a tiny fast moving work on the coral while closed and I'm not sure what to do! Please help as I'm very concerned I'll lose my coral!

Any chance for picture?

What else is in the tank and how is it doing?

Ten gallon tank, been running since about August, right?
The bugs could be just beneficial copepods.
Might just be an exciting phase of your maturing system. :)

Watch the glass, see if you can get a closer look at these bugs.

(Very clever with the Velcro caps btw! Love it.)

Yes! How did you know?:) hopefully they are pods but how do I explain the coral closing? My Zoanthids, and Pulsing Xenia are both fully extended and colorful. Also, what about small little works? I've pulled one out of the system that was very minimal in diameter but very long. He slithers like a snake against the Rock and the one I saw on the coral is very minimal in diameter but only 1/4 an inch long

Also, the bugs are all over the glass. Little white bugs with two antennas. They don't look like pods I've seen on the internet though.

Do they look like they're kinda crawling sideways?

Hey @twilliard, I've never kept GSP myself, but won't they kind of close up and slough off occasionally?

If the flesh of the GSP's is deteriorating the pods will eat it.
I think this is the case of the GSP's needing more food
