so Im having trouble with my water idk what are my water parameters but each time my tank get cleared theres like brown like super fined sand floating when i disturbed the sand and it my tank get cloudy again
i just use instant ocean marine conditioner probably alot and also beneficial bacteria im using argonite for my substrate (sorry for my bad english i tried my best to make my post understandable)
btw: ididnt pre mixed the instant ocean salt if thats the problem then how do i fix it i also use tap water but instant ocean claims that i can use tap water because their marine conditioner will eliminate all harmful chemicals like chlorine

Welcome to Reef2reef.

You'll still need a product like prime to remove chlorine. You prob have new tank uglies. Photos will also help.

Water tests are a must so we can help you through your tank cycling.

This is a great hobby but requires patience

thank you i will send my water to the petco and make them check my water and probably buy my own water checker or something.... and im trying to upload the video but it says theres an error about the file

Did you rinse the aragonite? If not, you will get a lot of suspended matter, cloudiness and non-mix of water does not help.
Take a small step back and start yes with a water test, siphon the bedding and re-adjust your salinity. Do not rush AND ASK questions. R2R is here for you and this is why we have these forums

And ... A warm welcome to you !!!!!

thank you but how do i reverse what i did... do i just siphon the water..?

I am going g to agree with @vetteguy53081 . If the aragonite wasn't rinsed thoroughly then you will have suspended particls for quite a while.
A gravel vac can help with this. Something that would be easily found at Petco or another local fish store.
If you were to "reset" make sure to mix the salt/water prior to adding to your tank. The floaty arm type of hydrometers aren't the best, but should get you through this part. A refractometer is a better and more accurate way of testing salinity.
If I were to suggest a test kit, I like the Red Sea "master" kit. Salifert also makes a good one. API, although cheap, have proven to be unreliable for several key tests

Stirring up the sand and good filters and vacuuming the sand bed will help remove fine particals from the water

If you are doing just fish you can use tap water. I use it for my fowlr.

Hello Mark & Welcome, You came to the right place. We gonna need more info ! 1st tank size & how long has it been running? Don't worry about a video right now some pics will be fine. We need to get an idea of the stuff floating in the water . Now I'm sure others who know a lot more will drop in .

please dont be against on this lol i only have 4 gal tank and it only been running for 1 week but like i said this tank is only for invertebrates... probably coral...

There are many tanks out there your size or smaller.. just know, that things can and will change very quickly in such a small tank.

Going back a little bit, knowing the size of your tank, IMO it is imperative to make sure your source water is as good as it can be.
Having such a small tank, buying a RODI unit may be a bit excessive, but an option. I would see if your Petco (cringe) has water available for sale. Either pre mixed saltwater, or better yet RODI so you can mix your own. I would stay away, if at all possible from tap water as most municipalities treat their water with at least cholorine, an more often than not Choliramine. Both can be treated with chemicals, but there are many other impurities that can lead to problems, if not out right death on inverts.
If your Petco doesn't offer water for sale, check Yelp, Yahoo, whatever, to see if you can find a Local Fish Store to help you with your needs.
Hope this helps..

As an addendum to my last post, keep in mind that in a salt water tank, water evaporates, but the salt doesn't. Maintaining a proper salinity, by adding fresh water to offset evaporation is the correct course if action. Having a source for RODI is key to long term success

Ok Mark, didn't mean any disrespect ! Nothing wrong with small tanks ! Consider if only 4 gls & one week into this. You could easily , rinse the sand real good & start again! I bet the cloudiness would go away ! Is there a lfs (local fish shop) near by?
