Hard to tell in the bag but my guess would be a stomatella.

Is it soft or hard? Could be a chiton if it seems to have a hard shell covered in algae

Yup. I'll get one in the morning.
That's got a cup at the bottom and a lid in the top with threads coming out. Hard as a rock? Pretty sure it's a bivalve. Mussle or clam. The sencond to the last pic should be the top and the threads are at the back.

Cool critters. I have just stuffed them in a nook where I can see them and pretty often the attach on their own.
Unless they don't like the spot and some of them will walk.
