Please help with my nem.

So he recovers in the dark and has an issue in the light. Strange. Normally they can move if they dont like light or flow. Perhaps some sort of bacteria is growing in the light and irritates it.
He is not in the dark, though he is at the top of the tank I uncover him while the lights wind down and cover him up before they ramp up all the way to keep him from getting over exposed

Just a FYI I use the same magnetic black sand and Red Sea coral pro salt in my nem heavy tank. They are all doing a-ok

If he repeatedly deflated, consider treating him with antibiotic.
Would this work

Not to be pedantic but it may be more accurate to say you have visually similar black sand. Who knows how similar the chemical makeup of the sand is.

Alight well I have the same caribsea Hawaiian black sand in my anenome tank if it makes you feel better.

I have a mix of black and white sooo I’m gonna not worry about that! Seems like the sensible thing to do.

It does lol. And considering my tank has more white sand than black I do believe it is NOT the sand
