To start I'm a novice. I've had this white bubble tip anemone for 4-5 months now. At first he was situated in one spot for approximately 3 months fully open. I tried to give him mysis, shrimp and actual for anemones and I don't think I've ever had great success. I don't believe he's ever closed up and ate anything. As opposed to my rose one who I've seen immediately close up and eat whatever I've given him.

Then are some point, the white anemone started moving everyday in and out of the light. He would appear everyday in a new spot. I would put food in his mouth and it would fall out.

Now he's been steadily next to the rose tip. However, he seems to weK to eat or I don't know what the issue could be. The past week since I've been able to reach him I've tried giving him shrimp, mysis and anemone food. All which he lets fall out of his mouth. Today I tried to cover them after the lights went out so maybe the shrimp wouldn't bother them but he still never closes.

I have a fluval light it says it's a 25 Watt Full Spectrum Aqua life & Plant LED Lighting
A 90 gallon tank
And I've checked everything for long tine
Nitrates, ammonia, nitrites are all 0
Calcium, magnesium, alkalinity and ph are within the parameters .

The only thing high are the phosphates which were 3.0 but are going down daily because I'm using phosoguard and doing weekly water changes.

And on a side not my clown fish host neither anemone.

PLEASE any suggestions would help. ANYONE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey there. There's no such thing as a white nem, so hope it wasn't sold to you as such. Are you going to upgrade your lighting any time soon? That's #1, but if it was bleached to begin with, it wasn't happy from the start. You don't have to feed your nem either. I think tossing food at it might be irritating it at this point.

I'm going to say its your lighting. If that color of that nem was the same as the day you boight it, then the LFS sold you a bleached nem? Probably under the wrong light as well. Your only option is to upgrade your light. I would stop trying to feed it for now since its trying to you it doesnt want to eat. A healthy nem would be able to pull that food in within seconds after touching food.

@pugcrush I've seen other white nems. Maybe I'm calling it by the wrong name but it was very healthy at the store and for the first few months I brought it home it seemed healthy 'happy' as well.

Okay @pga7602 so u see the problem could be the lighting. Since I am a novice. Can u recommend some alternative lighting choices with names etc? Please!!!!

You're going to either go T5 or LED. LED you'll spend a little more in the front end but you won't be replacing bulbs. Check the used section or even locally to save even more. 90 is a very common tank. Check people's builds to get you some ideas. I don't know how you plan on hanging the fixture but that is definitely something to think about.

Yea no such thing as white nem, it's a bleached bubble tip. And 25 watts of led over a 90 I can't believe either nem have survived this long. Get two Chinese black boxes for cheap off eBay

The light that you have is not a very strong light, that being said the nem would move to more light or away. Have you been feeding the nem? I had two in the past and figured by feeding the system with frozen I was feed the nem. They starved and died. My present nem, I feed two to 3 times a week and it is getting quite big and healthy. My parameter are pretty steady, our they perfect. No;):D

It is not letting me edit my original post so I am going to repost this @ontop27 @pugcrush @pga7602 @jsker
I have led lights I don't know if that makes a difference but it appears u that ur under the assumption I have another kind because of something I posted. As I said I'm a novice so this is all new to me including lighting

No such thing as a white anemone? Odd because there very common. Anyway, its a bubble tip and its a little bleached but thats fine, try to get it closer to the light. To tell you the truth, it doesnt look that bad either. If its sagging down, try pointing more flow towards it. Just leave it be for now, make sure your water parameters are ok. Dont bother it And give it time. The nem is moving around, so its not going to look so "swell" untill it has its foot down, and comphy!

A white bubble tip is very common? Maybe condys but not bubble tips. If it is indeed only 25 watts of output even if it's led that is no where near powerful enough for a 90 gallon tank.

@ReefPrincess423 I would change your lighting to LEDs. If you want to be on the cheaper side (like I am), I use WellPar 165W LEDs that I bought from eBay for about $85, and I run 2 of them on my 55. They are cheap lights, but produce FANTASTIC results! My RBTA had had tremendous success under these lights, including splitting naturally once. All of my other corals (zoas, torches, acans, ricordeas, SPS, leather mushroom, hammers, welsophylia, mushrooms) have had fantastic success as well, so I would highly recommend checking these lights out!

@ReefPrincess423 Also I have found that anemones like specific flow, so it could be walking to not only get better light, but also find a spot that also has better flow. (I know there's the other anemone next to it that's fine, but each anemone is different)

What's the appropriate wattage for a 90 gallon?

I'm lost, so what is it you guys think I have? Maybe I'm wrong and they didn't say bubble tip. I'm so confused because it was so healthy At the fish store and at home for the first 3 months.

The lighting I have is LEDs. In fact I had a marineland 90 watt LEDs that they said was garbage so they recommended this Fluval. Now come to find out, because as I said I'm a novice, the Fluval gives 25 watt output. I AM REALLY SO CONFUSED. I mean for the most part, my lfs isn't money hungry AT ALL. Many times they tell me to buy cheaper things as opposed to more expensive things because they say it's a waste of money. And if the parameters aren't right in my tank they won't allow me to purchase any coral or livestock.

I was assuming it was a BTA because it was playing nice with the rose BTA next to it and generally that's what a bleached one looks like. Someone could correct me later but regardless it should not be that clear. As far as watts per gallon that rule went out the window with LEDs. But for arguments sake the black boxes are 165 watts and you will need two to cover your tank. Odds are you won't turn them up to 100 percent though
