Please please please help my anemone I think he will die soon!!!!!!!

Just saying a lux meter is the price of a cheap frag. Meanwhile overguessing could mean bleaching. I've bleach a coral out good with my lights running 31 watts. He still hasn't recovered. He was possibly 3-4" away from the sandbed and the sandbed was around 100 par.

Your corals will tell you when you are giving too much light.
agreed.
but a meter is a really good tool. its a meter. for light.
a mars aqua at 12in on full will give you full sun daylight levels. 100,000 lux. from folks doing par maps with them that about 1200 to 1600par
AS far as the fluval goes you also want to test it as well before replacing it.(it 200 to 400 to replace yea?) if your getting 30,000 lux at 12in from the fixture its fine. if your getting 12,000 lux, replace it.

my guess is looking at the tank and coral is, the light is fine. the corals all seem ok. I only see one group of palys at the top w some browning. and one set on the bottom right w a little browning. if you can adjust for more intensity I would.

I agree you need some more light for the tank. You dont need anything fancy. There are lots of lights for sale in the for sale page on the forum. I would personally get the ocean revive light, they are cheap and they can support all SPS so you will be good to go forever.. Brand new they are like $200 but I have seen them for sale on the forum as cheap at $100 a piece. For your size tank you will probably need 2 of them. Good luck. How is he looking.

I personally dont think that light can support nems. I am sure they will live, but not look the best.

Can you post some pics of the other corals?

Yea get kessils if you have the money for them... but still would never get a kessil. To much shimmer for me.. Prefetr T5 but the ocean revives are cheap and I have seen them go big acro colonies.. to each his own.

I have about 40 bubble tips in two different tanks. Have had them for years. I have found the only time they really move is if they are stressed from water condition. Lighting doesn't seem to be a big issue. They do need good light, don't get me wrong there. That's how they produce food. I run LED in both tanks and they are fine.
The problem I have had in the past is when the diatoms have an outbreak(due to many reasons) they will ball up and look like they are dying. they will start to walk to try to find better place. I would turn your lights off for about 3 to4 days, do a water change, suck out any brown diatoms on the sand(don't stir up the sand too much). They are hardy guys and should bounce back after your water gets better.

You can feed them chunks of meat, but they really don't need any supplemental feeding. My skunk clowns love these guys-they go into all of them. my pair of Percula clowns in the other show tank do not leave the same bubbletip ever.

Good to know.
