They get very big. They are highly prone to ich. There is some concern that they don’t do well with copper although chelated copper should be safe. They eat crustaceans. And I’m not sure if they eat corals.

I loved my Snoball. But I recently lost him trying to move him from one tank to another for a reboot. He didn't last two hours in a 5-gal bucket. Wherever you put a Porc Puffer, make sure they can stay there.

What size tank did you keep him/her in?

I had him in a 4' 90-gal predator tank. Was attempting to move him to a friend's 110-gal as part of a reboot for the 90. I had Snoball for about a year and he was roughly the size of a 32-oz steel drinking cup, say 10-12" long. Weighed a ton! Ate like a pig. Messiest fish I've ever had. Giant smiling stomach. That's Snoball in my avatar. He did a lot of unprovoked stretching/puffing in his first six months. Turned out it's perfectly natural for growing young puffers.

You can count on most any puffer having parasites, ich, flukes etc. I have had and still have a lot of puffers. I love them, but they come in dirty.

Looks fairly healthy and happy in that tank. If you have the space and ability to treat if anything comes up, the only holder is price tag

Compromise: Buy that nice plant and the chunk of rock so the fish has more room to swim.
