Long story about this.
So my reef tank is a 450xl. I was frustrated trying to quarantine in a 10 gallon tank, so I bought a 250xl. I ended up with a Hippo tang with ich. I was going to try to run my 450xl fallow for two months by putting everything into the 250xl for a 2 to 3 month round of copper treatment and all the other recommended things that go along with.
I thought the 250 was cycled so I moved two clowns and a tang over. They were showing signs of amonia poisoning so I put them back into the 450xl to give the 250 more time.
The Hippo died, and the rest of my fish looked fine and healthy. I also realized how much work It was going to be trying to get all of the fish out of my 450xl. So I gave up on the idea of trying to run my reef tank fallow.
It seemed really silly to leave the 250 up and running empty just in case I want to buy another fish for the 450, so I decided to just make it a fish only tank. So now the 250 is home to a CUC that includes a sand shifting star fish, A clown tang, a blue wrasse , and two purple dart fish.
Now I am sure someone may read all this and say For Shame!
What can I say. I am an amputee that bit off way more then I could chew. But both tanks are very healthy now, and I am living with ich.
