I use a portable ro/di unit that I hook up to my basement sink, 150 gph. I fill up 5 gallon buckets which usually take 30-40 minutes each. I'm good at remembering to go down & switch them out. Monday night I set it up & started to watch a game on TV. 3 hours later flood on my basement floor. Luckily a have a decent drain there. Still very wet.

Anyone else ever do this or similar??

I flooded my living room with 20+ gallons
well................. You're not the only one.

I've done both, living room and basement.:(

Set up a inline solenoid valve connected to a hang on float switch to stop it filling. A low voltage 12v connected to a transformer will do the trick

Ha! I've fallen asleep. Left house. Did not confirm tube was in ATO container etc. and I do these thing regularly sometimes in the same week!Purple Tip Shaggy Acro

Yes several times, now I have a brute trash can with a push connect union for the rodi to hook in to a float valve. Best $45 I've spent.

I have my unit hooked up in the bathroom, where I fill 5 gallon buckets. I flood the floor 40% of the time, but it's usually a gallon or less and never more than a few gallons. It just seems like part of the process now.

To many times to count. Worst was starting RODI at 5PM, going to sleep that night, go to work and come home go to basement and find water running to the drain.
I need to get a float switch

Never done this. (Still didn't do the drain in basement:) )
luckily it overflows in the garage once it reaches around 1.5 inch deep. woke up to a very wet garage and a clean basement floor.
Since then added automated the RODI so it shuts down when the mixing station is full.
