I've got a cpr aquafudge 2 small refugium the new model and I was wondering if I need to turn the pumps off in the refugium to add pods in the refugium? I got a pump for circulation for the chaetomorph algae and there's a pump actually for the refugium so what do I need to do?

When I add pods I turn the flow off so the pods can settle into their new home and not get skimmed out.

My skimmer is on the main tank and not in the refugium do I have to turn it off because I know that if you put pods in the tank you have to turn it off but since the refugium is on the back of the tank do I still need to turn it off

I got the new cpr aquafudge 2 that doesn't have the output tube it has a ramp like thing to transfer back into the tank

Also do you turn everything off when you feed them plankton

The goal is to reduce the flow in the fuge. These little guys take some time to settle in.
I do not turn anything off when I give my phytoplankton
It goes in the return side of my sump.
Sure eventually the skimmer gets it but I add it daily.

I don't have a sump I've got the new cpr aquafudge 2 small refugium

So I want to turn the pumps off cause I got a pump for circulation for the chaetomorph algae and there's the main pump and do I need to turn the skimmer off cause it's on the main tank not the refugium cause I know that you have to when you're adding pods straight to the tank but do I need to since there not going in the tank

I can add them anytime during the day right cause if you put them in the tank your supposed to wait until the fish goto sleep and then add them but since there going in the refugium can I put them in anytime or what

Sorry for all the questions but I don't know what to do cause I just got the refugium I was adding Tigger pods every week a whole bottle

Wow, adding pods every week? I haven't added any I just feed some plankton everyday and I have a thriving pod population. Even with a mandarin and six line wrasse.

I was putting a bottle in the tank once a week before I had this refugium

I'm trying to figure out what to do to add a bag of pods in the cpr aquafudge 2

Do I have to turn the skimmer off on the main tank when I add the pods to the refugium

I turn off everything that moves water in anyway for 30 minutes for pods. For pytoplankton I just dump it in. Follow the directions on bottle for storage and amount to use. But keep in mind Rocks, sand, ext displaced part of your water. Also keep in mind the directions are for stocked tanks. If your lightly stocked use maybe 1/2 or 1/4 recommended, extra is just additional phosphates. Plus too much at once and skimmer will take a big chunk out of it anyway. Better smaller dose more often.

What kind did you get? I used Seachem for a while. Switched to Algaebarn and am loving it.

Can I add the pods anytime cause I know when you add them to the tank it tells you to wait until the fish are asleep

yes, at night would be best so they don't instantly get picked off by all your fish. What kind of fish do you have?
