Poll: Biggest Controversy in Reefing?

Dry rock just adds 12 months. What happened to patience in this hobby? Youngsters I suppose.

Tank sizes for tangs and QT are the big ones. Healthy debate is a good thing, but discussions about those topics always seem to turn nasty. Threads about the other controversial subjects at least get a few pages long before the name-calling starts. 
A reefkeeping channel I watch (Prestige Reef, I think?) made a great point that though there is always so much debate and controversy on forums, once you actually meet other keepers in person, everyone is friendly and constructive. Nobody spits in the face of someone they just met at the LFS who doesn't quarantine or allows the coral to tell them if parameters are bad, at least not anyone I know. We're all just enjoying the same hobby in different ways, no real reason for people to argue and go after one another so much. Even for people who have very strong opinions about certain topics, they've probably got a reefing buddy at the LFS or local club who "treats" ich with garlic, and they get along fine in person. It's so easy to get angry at faceless posts on a forum, it's hard to remember that there's a real person who is trying to enjoy the hobby as much as you (albeit in a different manner) behind them.
If this thread is gonna be a "live rock debate" one, I might as well add my two cents. Live rock for the win! I might get some dry rock if I'm doing rift lake cichlids or decorating a garden path, though. The ocean has nutrients, the ocean has "pests", and the ocean has bacteria, but the ocean sure doesn't have piles of shining white limestone! And yes, I'm very impatient. Not waiting another year if there's no particular reason to do so.

I got 2 in a 60 gallon cube. They are a solid “5” on the Marc Levenson vet scale.

It’s mostly the old timers who try and sell everyone on ocean rock! Back in 2005 when i started it was by far the preferred method. It’s the youngsters chasing neon rainbow black light “super dope fire” tanks that are afraid of “hitchhikers” lol!

I would have to go with QT vs non QT. That and using straight tap water. I will admit that as an old time aquarists I still do things old school which means I do not QT and I do use straight tap water. However I would never encourage other reefers to use my methods as it may not be as successful for them but it has worked very well for me.

No brainer in my opinion. I have done both. I will never do anything but ocean live rock again, if I am able.
