Polyplab One (Calcium Acetate)

I know anhydrous isn't more pure, but it is more potent. I just want things pure and potent as in general.

So if that is the case with calcium, should I lower the calcium chloride amount and put some more magnesium chloride and strontium chloride? I do want to implement these chemicals to the solution as well, so what should the ratio be with the CaCl2, MgCl2, and SrCl2 so that long term it is still balanced?

Also, I NEVER do water change. Never have done one in almost a decade besides an emergency 100% one. This may be or may not be useful info. I just let chaeto and trace elements (such Aquavitro Fuel and more) do all the work. ICP tests says my parameter are normal, so I just never found a need to do water changes. Well technically, my water changes are pretty much when I give someone some frags, which is often but not substantial.

That’s one of them, yes. Follow that with the substitution of sodium acetate

Since I do not do water changes, do I have to worry about calcium building up over time still or is it still a problem?

Yes, but it’s a long term problem. Can be solved by dosing some sodium bicarbonate to boost alk and not calcium. It’s about 10% too much calcium, depending on exactly which organisms are predominant.

Ok, so it's not too bad, I keep around 430 Ca and 9.5 dkH, that would mean in the long run (no idea how long that is), it would be around 470. Meh.

This is the last question, I promise haha. So in order to combat this, couldn't I just replace that 10% with MgCl2 and SrCl2? Or add 10% more Sodium Acetate or Spdium Hydroxide?

No, you added 10% to the total. The idea is that you overdose by about 10% every time. So if you dose 20 ppm over 1-4 days, you will overdose by 1-2 ppm.

You need to add more alk relative to calcium. Many ways to do that, but adding magnesium and strontium will have only a tiny effect on calcium. More sodium acetate does it.

Ah I see. Ok, I will add between 5-10% more acetate, just to be on the safe side. Thank you very much! I'll let you know how this method goes in the long run!
Ok, good luck!
