Many people use it, but it's recommended to get a prescription from a vet and have it filled at a compounding pharmacy. Using the stuff you find online is often problematic because they source their CP from china where the quality and purity is dubious at best.

I've used CP extensively on puffers and it works great. However, securing pharmaceutical grade CP is a must.

I'll have to talk to my local vet. That may be a possibility. I also was told by someone polyplab medic works. But it's a "reef safe" treatment so that could be bogus.

I've seen one instance here where it failed miserably and heard of another from a customer that also failed miserably. There are still no reef safe ways to eradicate ich in the display without going fallow.

Gizmo is looking better! I know the ich isn't gone it's probably just moving to the free swimmer state. But I'm holding the cupramine level around .3-.4. They seem to be acting normal and eating fine. *fingers crossed*

The spots shouldn't have been able to come back. Are you testing the copper levels daily? They haven't dropped below .3 even once?

Nope. They've been between .3-.5 since the day I added it And even still now

I would get it close to 0.5 ppm and begin a 7 day countdown. If you are still seeing white dots after that, have someone else double check your Cu reading using a different test kit.

Make sure to treat any replacement water with the appropriate amount of Cupramine, so therapeutic levels are constantly maintained. Letting the Cu level drop and then adding more copper to the QT to raise it back up is improper treatment.

Update.. I'm at a solid .5 for Copper level now. Gizmo is still eating great and in the last 2 days he's looking better. The spots have dropped off his eye. Still has spots on his fins. I'll keep steady at .5 for awhile.
