Post if you have R2R'd at work, during work hours

It was a big deal at work after we started a lean six sigma process and monitored every business move. Web usage was at the top of the list in lost productivity. I personally did not care as long as our department got the work done. It was getting more and more difficult to be flexible when report stats showed an average of 2-3 hrs per employee of lost productivity. We all have done it especially around the holidays. Related work cost were skyrocketing, and the business moved towards layoffs as cost cutting measures. It became a very difficult conversation right before the holidays and in an industry that took 6 months to a year to find a similar paying job. The bottom 15% were cut and web management came into play. Im out, retired, and hated to see the next phase of employee management come into play. The newest consideration included cell phone management.
This is a common knee-jerk reaction and it is wrong. Worker productivity goes up when your brain is allowed a chance to context switch occasionally. There have been numerous studies proving it. (It also sounds like your office doesn't understand how lean and six sigma work...)

Fantastic discussion. my field of work involves rewarding millenials for good production w web time, so so cool. for sure abuses are curbed, webbing when customers are in play get ya canned/write up

but total self regulation is amazing too

we arent in an industry where there are paperworks or interim reports or things to do, when no customers are here its truly cool time and we are expected to hammertime when business calls. I get 2 hours a day online legit in my industry, high pressure sales has to have some type of balance or we'll all be on lisinopril

I love my job

lol before posting my desk shot I:

moved micro terrarium into view
removed all branding from rear shot wall
opened up r2r full screen to omit trade secret info and kardashian backgrounds from view on pc

should be good to go on compliance yep

There's a company out there that upgrades their version of MS Office slower than mine does? Holy smokes!

if i get any more paranoid about trade secrets ima rip that pic right back off lol

The icons on your Start bar at the bottom. :) Old logo for Outlook and you have Lync instead of Skype.

I'm my own boss, so I let myself slack whenever I feel like it. :D
The perks of working for yourself or in a role that you set your own schedule...I concur. ...occasionally my wife finds me R2Ring when I'm supposed to be doing something work-related...so I guess we're never fully free of supervision. :D

IM laughing so much right now

i gave myself the compliance heebee geebee's and had to pull it or i couldnt sleep at night.

so, going along the lines of is this a trap, even though i made the thread myself i fell into the same line of thought lol

to sleep well in no self doubt I mod pic to include only the terrarium and my coffee cup for scaling purposes heh

not owing to any logic, I can't say why kardashian swimwear backrounds are acceptable whereas being able to id anything regarding IT is pronounced fear. a dichotomy nonetheless.
