here you go, grant. as i said, it is a big ghetto. :) i guess there are 2 clips per bar, not 1 as i said before. plus here you can see that i had to extend the connecting wires, as out of the box they are only about 6" long.

Where did you get the holding clips for the PBs?

Just setup the ecoxotic stunner blue. They are really nice/pops the whole tank not just spots like the powerbrite. I got mine from dr.fosternsmith.

Please post up some pics of the stunner blues you got! All these pics of powerbrite lit corals look awsome. I really havent seen pics with the huge pop in the other brands yet. I would just buy some powerbrites but I like the sound of the whole tank poppin and not just spots. My tank is a 6 foot 215 gal so it seems like I would need a shopping cart full of powerbrites . I really only want them for some cool nightime viewing and picture taking. o ya. my luminark mini reflectors are about 12" off of the water, so whatever led's I use cant really be mounted any higher than that to avoid interference with the reflectors. I'm assuming the closer to the water they are the less spread you are going to get

Even if I can find the powerbrites I will stick with the stunners. Since they are linkable def getting the ultraviolet bar. Will post pics tonight.

went over to twinspots tonight and took a powerbrite to do a direct compare between the powerbrites and finnex bars.

imo the powerbrites are a bit brighter, but more focused so that is probably the difference. also, the finnex appear to be a slightly lighter blue color than the powerbrites. powerbrites are 460nm and i would guess the finnex are 470nm or so. just a bit lighter blue.

both are too bright for moon lights effect. I would recommend IceCap LED tubes for moon lights.

not the best at taking photos. first shot is t5 actinic and blue plus. the rest are the stunners only.

I know the issues with LEDs is the heating, thus the heatsinks to pull out heat. How is mounting the powerbrites in and around MH affecing the powerbrites with heat? I have 3 400W MH and they are mounted to my ceiling via chains. I have an oscillating fan to push heat out from the top of the tank, would that be enough or will the heat wipe out the LEDs?

The power brites have heatsink internally so it transfer heat plus they dont creat to much heat

What stunners did you get the 403nm or the 453nm

I would be surprised if you would even notice the powerbrites on, when used along side 400W MH...

Man I have the power brites coming but think I shoudl have gone with the finnex?

Too many choices.

Grant

i'm sure you will be happy w/ the powerbrites. if nothing else i'm sure you can turn them around w/ no loss due to the diminished availability, but i don't think you will want to. you'll see.

when are they scheduled to arrive?

I cant decide . the finnex and ecoxotic sound like better choices for me because of the coverage. but I still havent seen stunning close up pics like sdguy's powerbrite pics. I remembered I had a string of blue led moon lights I got from ebay awhile back. I put them up with just my actinics on too see what they would do. Needless to say they were pretty weak so back in the closet they went.
