Just got back from a frag swap..... I take it all back! The “hobbyists” with tables set up just took all my money! Some awesome deals to be had for sure!

Well if they can find the money that would be helpful to find out where it is.
2000 I received one of those Certified letters from the IRS wanting 1.5 million dollars.I came out CLEAN AS A Whistle with an apology letter and a Thank you from the IRS for my cooperation.

I joke because if you knew what I have went through in the last 10 years losing everything that I worked for the last 20.You either take it with a grin or go straight to the docks with a bottle of whiskey.I prefer to laugh it off.As far as Life is not a Joke.2016 I had Dept of Interior take a Cameroon Shipment worth $75,000.00 and gave it to the Zoos and Aquariums. No charges,No due process,No DOJ review,no compensation, nothing.Fully Legal, all the permits and I had one of the Best Wildlife Lawyers in the Country.I do not wish to break TOS rules on politics so I will end it there.I also just recently went through a divorce $67,000.00 this year.My wife left me 13 years ago, abandoned my 5 year old daughter.12 years later she comes back wants the house,my 10acres and my now 17 year old daughter and the courts entertained this nonsense and it used up all my daughters College money.

So,yes,I know FAR TOO well life is NOT a JOKE.Did you really have to remind me???Now I need a beer!!! especially with Authorities that abuse their powers with impunity. And people who just like to cause others problems .I will also add that I took care of out of my pocket two bedridden parents in my home.First my father then my mother and fed the Medical Monster which again I will not break TOS rules and stop there. It's over now and I will rebuild.I don't go to shows.I am a wholesaler for 35 years. All my money goes to the banks.I AM TRYING TO BE POSITIVE AND PROMOTE PEOPLE IN THIS HOBBY.Not a sour puss.Conservation through commercialization I firmly believe in because it's the truth period. Some Cat wants to make a fortune and pay his bills and debts more power to him.How is he going to be tax liable for paying his debts and overhead???

OP, I mostly agree with you.

The only problem is the more prosaic stuff (e.g. birdsnests, softies, non-big name non super colorful acros, monti cap, most monti dig, favia and favites, non-exotic colored BTAs) are not generally available from hot online sellers; they are somewhat expensive from an LFS. And as you mention often very cheap from fellow hobbyists.

However, I think the biggest danger is that stuff can accumulate too quickly..... :)
