TM has stated that UK and Europe only received German product.Does anyone in the UK know for sure if TM Pro Reef supplied here comes from Germany or Turkey? I want to change from Aquaforest which is now exactly the same price.

The video BRS made recently stated that the reason they haven't opened a plant in the US is because they couldn't find a pure residue-free source of sodium chloride in the US.Interesting @poidog. This is a completely random thought, but if they are using Turkey to manufacture and supply North America, and not Europe, why didn't they just set up a plant here in North America? I'm sure labor is cheaper in Turkey, but its not any cheaper than Germany! I'm sure they could have setup a plant in the southwest USA or Mexico and got a great direct source of salt and competitive labor.
I hope they shut down that plant permanently, learn from their mistakes, and add a N.A. plant. They could probably even get the costs down. Not sure what this German company was thinking.
For me, I switched to BW Neo for now but will plan to try the German sourced salt soon after seeing their response and the BRS video.
ESV... they are manufactured in USA and they mix quickly and crystal clear, according to BRS's own tests. The video BRS made recently stated that the reason they haven't opened a plant in the US is because they couldn't find a pure residue-free source of sodium chloride in the US.
I was just quoting what Ryan said on their video.ESV... they are manufactured in USA and they mix quickly and crystal clear, according to BRS's own tests.
no I wasn't directing that at you, but BRS. I watched that video too and when they said that statement ESV immediately came into my mind.I was just quoting what Ryan said on their video.
Maybe BRS was the final straw in trying to deflect the complaints. The video also commended TM several times for taking Ryan's complaint seriously from the get go with no pushback. I'd love to know the timeline on that call because there was definitely pushback initially on this forum. BRS is monitoring these threads as well so I didn't find the extreme praise entirely genuine.

I know. I heard Ryan say that. But clearly we know thats not true. The video BRS made recently stated that the reason they haven't opened a plant in the US is because they couldn't find a pure residue-free source of sodium chloride in the US.

They have a huge source for Instant Ocean and Reef Crystals for how popular those 2 are in the US.I have no confidence in the messages from that BRS video, and I have mentioned here before that I thought it did more harm than good.
However despite that, a supply of pharmaceutical grade salt being available in the US doesn’t necessarily mean that was immediately available for TM to use in the quantities desired, or that a suitable processing plant was available at short notice (which was presumably one of the aims to try overcome the immediate stock shortages).
There were other comments on that video that I found more disingenuous than the possibility that there was no immediately available US facility that they could use.

Over 25 years and counting! If IO or RC is your raw material benchmark then why not buy those instead and save some money (I do).
Don't think they did in Turkey eitherThe video BRS made recently stated that the reason they haven't opened a plant in the US is because they couldn't find a pure residue-free source of sodium chloride in the US.

I've been using RC but I've noticed it has recently gotten a huge price hike. I used to get boxes of RC for $45-50, now the buckets are over $60. Might look into the Red Sea blue buckets.Over 25 years and counting!
Let's keep it civil, please. The only "unbelievable comment" here is your proclamation of being made whole while others are left in the dark... and then trying to act like it's anything but. lol
What exactly would you like us to refer to your preferential treatment as champ?
