This white spot popped up on my fox face. It's getting bigger over the past week. Anyone know what it is and how to treat. Fish is about 3". Spot is about the siZe of a pen tip

Is it protruding outward (looks that way)? Does it appear to be a cauliflower-like growth?

Have you seen white stringy poop come out of this fish? I'm wondering if this might be Hexamita aka Hole In The Head Disease. Although I've never seen a lesion look quite that way before. In some of your recent pics, it almost looks like a worm is curled up & sticking out of his head. o_O

I did find this photo on the Internet of an Oscar with Hexamita with (somewhat) similar looking lesions:

It strikes me that both of these lesions (foxface and sixline) are decidedly ring-shaped, with what appears to be something pushing through the center - and in almost the same location. (Not that I've ever seen anything like them ... just really striking . . . )

That was an unusual occurrence I had hoped the owner of the six-line would keep an update as to what treatments he did and what happened with the fish. @melypr1985 seemed to think it was along the lines of a parasite so maybe that would be a good place to start with this one?

I'll tag @Javeii from the other thread, hopefully he'll pop in with the outcome of his fish.

I started as a small white speck. But has grown larger. It's hard to get a clear shot cuz the fish is very active. But it almost looks like a piece of sand sticking up and it's white and irritated around it.

This is an excellent picture. I think to figure it out we would start with the freshwater dip I suggested in the other thread. Depending on the results of that, I would move on to either antibiotics or general cure. Hmm... Kinda looks like a teeny tiny cinnamon roll stuck to his head.

No weird poo. Looks normal to me. How do u suggest I catch it for a fw dip??

I once had a Centropyge bispinosa with a similar growth on the forehead for some months. The fish began visiting the cleaner shrimp wich dug out a hole in the fish. Very painful so the fish swam away but were back in 5 minutes. And so they went on for 3 or 4 days. The hole was so big and deep I feared it would reach the brain. But suddenly the fish stopped visiting the shrimp and it healed totally in 2 weeks. No visible scar. I was totally flashed. A wound 4 mm diameter and 3 mm deep just disappeared in 2 weeks.

A fish trap may work for you... or try netting him out when the lights are out. I've caught fish by feeding and netting them out when they come up to eat.

+1 Fish trap baited with nori. Or most rabbitfish I have owned will eat nori right out of my hand. I would then have my wife sneak up from behind with a net. :D
