Problem with fox face. Need Id

The best way I have found to catch a difficult fish is too first do a little spying and find out where the fish likes to sleep at night. Have a large enough net and know where it is in the dark, have a flash light with a strobe setting. The room needs to be pitch black dark with no moon lights so you can sneak in with a minimum of flash-light then light up the tank with the strobe and net the fish. It's worked for me every time but I only use as a last resort.

I once had a Centropyge bispinosa with a similar growth on the forehead for some months. The fish began visiting the cleaner shrimp wich dug out a hole in the fish. Very painful so the fish swam away but were back in 5 minutes. And so they went on for 3 or 4 days. The hole was so big and deep I feared it would reach the brain. But suddenly the fish stopped visiting the shrimp and it healed totally in 2 weeks. No visible scar. I was totally flashed. A wound 4 mm diameter and 3 mm deep just disappeared in 2 weeks.

I[emoji173]️cleaner shrimp!

I agree with infected abscess. Looks like the fish has a stong immune system. Nice color and fins, despite the affliction looks healthy. I like Meridith's suggestion of dipping and hopping onto some antibiotics.

Staying tuned in to this station.

Ok so update. I came home yesterday and the center had fallen off and the ring started close up. Today it looks a lot better. I'm going to keep an eye on it and any weird signs with my other fish.

Thats great to hear! Im considering a magnificent foxface for my reefer 525. Have you witnessed him chomping on any coral, and has there been any aggression towards you when your in the tank? Thanks :)

None at all. He's the biggest in the tank right now. He follows my wrasse around like a puppy dog lol. Very cool active fish. I like it
