Hello
Is there any plan on fixing the bucket design?
Ive ordered twice from dr fosters and both times the bottom of the bucket is blown out.
first time salt was rock hard and the second time I had a big mess.
seems bottoms are real thin

Get it from salty supply. Its because of the packaging. I ordered my first bucket from Fosters and smith and it was a mess. But now I only buy it from salty supply and they are all good.

This is like the 10th time i heard this. So you not the only one lol. Agreed, order form another place.

Opened mine today , salt was over a year old , rock solid and the entire side of the bucket was blown out . Bag was still in one piece luckily .

F/S is sending a new one so we'll see what happens

I ordered two buckets from f&s, both busted and neither one had the free t-shirt that was advertised on the website. Both buckets relativity old, 1 year. However, the mixing of the salt was awesome. Quick and easy with no funky film. I see more aquaforest salt in my future.

I have never had a problem with the AF salt Buckets, but I have always ordered from Salty Supply. Probably on my 6th bucket and it has always been perfect. Will never get AF supplies from anywhere other than them and the shipping is always more reasonable. :-)

Just received another bucket of AF Reef Salt from Salty Supply. It was double wrapped in bubble wrap and boxed. It arrived in perfect condition even after the UPS guy dropped it on my porch.

Received my fosters and smith salt today and the buckets are broken, and salt was one solid lump, had to take a hammer to it. Also, it mixed up a cloudy yellow color even after two hours of mixing. UGH!!!!

I've ordered a bunch of buckets as well that have been broken or bags ripped inside and the salt turns to rock. Thankfully salty supply has been on it with customer service. Hopefully aquaforest will beef up their buckets soon.

AF don't add anti caking agents, if the salt gets damp it can solidify though I have never had an issue, if the good arrive damaged the supplier/currier needs to be informed

Ditto here, what a mess of rock-hard unusable salt. The mess, damaged bucket and other problems outweigh any advertised advantages and I'm going elsewhere with my salt purchases.

Geez, what a bunch of whiners in here! Just because the salt is hard doesn't mean it is unusable.
I don't use af salt but it sounds like they need to use standard 5 gallon buckets. There can't be much of a cost difference on their end. It probably costs more to label that bucket and you'd think they would want that bucket around for years to do some free advertising.

It makes it a pain to deal with there are many many Salt brands out their that work well that do not have this issue and do not use binders either. I would like market parity here not looking for anything special just basic ease of use. Taking a hammer to my salt every time I want to mix a batch doesn't encourage product loyalty.

I can only say from my experience dont buy AF stuffs from Dr. F&S. Their majority stocks are old and shipping is even worse.

How was

How was your bucket packed? Was it loose or in a box?

How was your bucket packed? Was it loose or in a box?

Mine was loosely packed in a box with maybe 50 packing peanuts tossed in the bottom of the box. Side of bucket was split from top to bottom, but bag wasn't torn.

There was nothing else in the box to keep the bucket stationary. Box was probably 4" taller that the bucket and it just thrashed around in the box

Packed as quoted above.
