Ordered my first bucket from bulk reef supply recently. Came in heavy duty box, with 2 thick pieces of styrofoam on the bottom of the bucket and 1 over the top to hold it firmly in place, not even a scratch on the bucket however i havent opened it to check the salt inside yet.
I just got my first bucket from BRS this morning. Same thing. Arrived in good shape. I had previously ordered from Salty Supply with no problems.

wow!!! Am I the only one to have received absolutely amazingly packed Prodibiotic salt from DFS .
Its a little old , packaged in April but in great shape and the salt was not clumped at all.
50$ gift card for 125$ purchase on Black Friday was too good to pass especially when BRS ran out of stock !

Regards,
Abhishek

I gave up with DFS the told me to return the salt for credit but how? the bucket is broken and bag as well, they have actually lost a long term customer of this debacle. went to Tropic Marin Pro instead from another vendor.

Ditto...my 2 AF buckets arrived just as you described and safe and sound on the outside...

About a week ago, I got a bucket of reef salt from BRS. It was package well but the bucket was still broken on the bottom and 3/4 they way to the top. Luckily the bag did not break. My guess is that UPS did not treat it very well due to its weight.

Di-spite this, the bucket AF uses is very thin compared to other salt brand buckets I have seen and used.

I ordered 4 buckets from Fosters and Smith. They are still in the shipping boxes. I am going to make a point to open them tonight and ensure that the buckets and bags are intact. I'm not sure why the manufacturer has not replied to this thread. There is absolutely a QA problem with the buckets and it should be addressed. I have had a broken bucket when ordering Red Sea, but it was only one bucket out of dozens I have ordered.

I stopped using AF salt because of the bucket issue. Of the 5 or 6 buckets I ordered, all but two were split when they arrived. There are too many good salt mixes out there packed in boxes or sturdy buckets to have to deal with a potential mess every time it comes in.

We took delivery on a 100lb bucket of salt today and in the process of moving the bucket downstairs the handle broke and the bucket tumbled down the stairs. The bucket cracked open, puncturing the bag of salt in the process. The bag is badly damaged.

Will the salt still be usable or is it compromised?
