Problems with snails dying immediatly after acclimation

This is how Ron Shimek taught me how to acclimate snails many moons ago. Place them in an empty bowl and let them express all the water they are inflated with as they close up. Set up a ramp going into the tank at the water surface. Place the snails on the ramp at the water edge. They will slowly crawl in and self-acclimate.
Wow, never heard of that before. Will have to try it. Thamk you.

How long does it take the snails to go in? Also how would you keep them from drying out if it takes a while for them to go in? I am intrigued by this method.

About and hour, sometimes faster. They won't dry out. They have water wicking up at the edge of the ramp. Some are exposed for brief periods at low tide.

Drip acclimate until salinity in the bag = salinity in the tank.
Yes defo do this as this one of main reasons why we aclimitizing our livestock
Yes I am. I have a six stage system with 1 micron filters. I got that a few months after i started the tank. I just used tap water and dechlorinating drops before that.
Also could It be that before you was using rodi and using just tap water, even with a dechlorinator ( most bind heavy metals together, not sure if all do or the one you used did) but one off main reasons what convinced me to get rodi unit when I set up my tank instead off just tap water was everyone's tap water different but certain containments could be getting in tank with tap water and only trace amounts so no real harm but over extended time using just tap water ,the containments keep building upto high dangerous levels for the more sensitive livestock we keep then have die offs ( even if a dechlorinator binds heavy metals ,does it bind them together for eternity or just a certain time then releases them kind off thing, like most have copper pipes in our houses and as water passing through could trace particles be getting in water then into our tanks and when we water change its not removing them.or any other contaminent.
Just a thought that come to me,if that's your problem or not idk and hopefully if is then hopefully a icp test picks up on it.
Good luck

Hopefully the test will give me some water quality answers. Thanks for the thoughts.
