Hi there
i run new protein skimmer and working for 4 days now. its overflowing like crazy. i tried different water levels but its all same. now its running at manufactured recommended water level but still same.
also tank is full of micro bubble.
any idea how i can fix this problem?
i attached a video for reference.
thanks

It would be helpful if you listed what brand and model, as they all have their own quirks, some more than others. A picture of the skimmer as you have set up would be helpful as well.

its Red Sea Reefer Skimmer - RSK-300

Water level is likely too high. Do you have your skimmer on a stand?
thats exactly on manufacture water level recommendation. they marked it with red line and yes sitting on adjustable stand. thats why im kinda confused whats wrong.

I have seen this happen right after I fully clean my skimmer. Sometimes it needs to get a little dirty for this to stop. I am assuming those micro bubbles are exhaust coming from the output of the skimmer. Try running it set to a lower input level. It won't look right because the foam level will be much lower in the cone but if the microbubbles and over flow stop, you can run like that and then slowly increase the level.

ok im gonna go 2 inches down and see what happen

Skimmers take time to break in when they are new. Up to 14 days. The micro bubbles will go away and the overflowing will stop. Then you can dial it in. Open up the discharge fully until it settles down. Usually won’t take the full 14 days just depends on the tank. Mature tanks will get through this break in period sooner.

I always keep a air valve on my airline to ajust the air and it walways works for me

Have you treated your tank with anything? For example Seachem Stressguard will do that.
no Seachem Stressguard . i think that happen cause both tank and skimmer are new

To break in a protein skimmer a bit faster, try running air valve all the way open while you're available to empty the collection cup. Then turn down air intake when you go to bed or are away from home if you don't want overflow. Since your tank is new, that's also a big reason why you have so many microbubbles. I had crazy microbubbles for almost a month breaking in my new tank but the bubbles didn't affect cycling parameters at all. Ended up tossing out that protein skimmer and switched to Reef Octopus Classic 1000 HOB, it broke in after about two days and the microbubbles all disappeared, now crystal clear water. Just takes time... When mine did finally break in, it was almost like a snap of the fingers and the bubbles stopped and the collection cup slowed way down.
