hello every one looking for a skimmer i have a 150 gallon and 30 gallon sump it need to have a small foot print and under $700.00

I would recommend the super reef octopus 3000sss. In you budget, small footprint, and awesome skimmer.

You can't go wrong with AquaC EV-180 (rated up to 180gal) /w Mag 7. 57% of your budget, small footprint and decent skimmer.

Or you can get AquaC EV-240 (rated up to 240gal) /w Mag 12 which costs only 70% of your budget.

The super reef won't work my stand Is 26 high and my sump water level is 10 when I lift it b/c has to be in 7 inches of water then it hit the top Aqua c never use it going to be a 75-80% sps so I need a good skimmer

Hi reef fish,

There's a few skimmers that can work for you. The AquaC EV can be run externally or internally and may work for you, but it's maximum volume is 180. If space is a concern, you might consider a Tunze skimmer such as the Tunze DOC Protein Skimmer 9011 or the Tunze Master DOC Protein Skimmer 9410.000. Keep in mind that the 9011 would need to be positioned towards the top of the water line, and the 9410 would need to be put on a stand of at least 1". I hope this helps.

has any one used [h=1]SKIMZ SM 201 Monzter E-Series - In-Sump Protein Skimmer[/h]

I am a big fan of the ER\RD style of skimmer, The INS 180 model would be good for you and goes for $399 off of the website

the Euroreef/Reef Dynamics....The guy that owns Reef Dynamics used to run Euroreef and the skimmers are roughly the same. On the RD web site you can get replacement parts for the Euroreef skimmers. What I like about them is they are all handmade in the USA and they are very well balanced and once they are dialed in you can forget about them. There is only one adjustment and that is the riser tube to control the level in the skimmer body.

here is a link to the model i suggested for you
INS180 Protein Skimmer

The people who dont like them criticize them for not using an newer technology ( bubble plates and cone bodies). The owner has a lot of useful information on his website and on youtube

I have the Warner Marine MF-121. The Skimz and Warner Marine (newer models) are very, very similar. Only minor changes between the two. Jon from WM worked with Skimz and tweaked the design a tiny amount.. I LOVE this thing, and I've used many, many different brands of skimmers previously. Send a PM to Jon Warner on here.. see if he has any Warner Marine skimmers that will fit your bill.

WM all the way!! I have two, only using one at the moment, but super awesome piece of equipment!! Don't think Jon has any around at the moment( hit him up anyway?) but I'd highly recommend it

Aqua c 240 would be my recommendation. I had a 180 on my 75 and it's insane. I like the injection down draft skimmers. I currently have a etss Evo 500 as well running with a mag 9 and it's awesome too!

I am using Aqua C Remora Pro S with mag 5 and its awesome too.

Try to find a used ATB or Bubble King Mini.

Short of that, send Jon Warner a PM. The new line of skimmers are excellent.
