Protein Skimmers

I think I'll have to pile onto the AquaC bandwagon. I'm running an ancient EV-90 model (100-gallon system) and have really liked it.

Their newer models have several design changes and are much much nicer. Being able to select any pump you want and the skimmer's ultimate simplicity are my favorite features. AquaC does do custom work too if you need something they have in a little shorter design. Proteinskimmer.com is their site where you can contact them.

Tunze would also be a great alternative, especially if you need something more compact.

so nobody like the swc ????

The SWC's are nice but for your tank and requirements a WM MF201 is going to be a nice fit. One eden 5000 pump would be perfect size for a 150g display. They will run best in the 8-9" water level. If you were looking at the swc's the 180 would be the right fit, that being said the 180 cone's pump is its downfall so i never suggest them. The 160 cone is a bit small and the 230 cone is a bit large.

I was think of the swc 230-300 but my sump space is 15x15 1/4 so the 300 won't fit so so i need to go with the 230 luke your saying not to go with swc ???and go with a WM MF201 ????

Given your space requirements, the Skimz/Warner Marine line is a great choice. I have an sk181 cone that is probably too much skimmer for my 105g tank.

i think this the skimmer am going with Skimz E-Series SM201 Protein Skimmer

I've got a Warner Marine MF201 which is like the hotrodded version of that on my 180 fowlr. The thing skims like a champ and is built like a tank. Plus its pretty. :)

Well guys order my skimz 201 from aqua cave to day and a reef octopus skimmer cleaner head what do you guy think the skimmer is rated for a 250-550 gallon tank I have 150+20 gallon sump
